Also electoral reform will push the politics of Canada further right. There's a reason why whenever moderate conservative parties have a hardcore splinter group the splinter group usually get enough traction to cost conservatives the election and launch yet another "unite the right" movement.

The liberal/left position must be seriously hard up on having the will of the people if they can't muster enough people to elect them without the other parties spoiling each other in a FPTP election. I think electoral reform where the most people are represented instead of political gamesmanship that can have 2 wildly different election results depending on where they voted and not the number of votes is stupid. Like holy poo poo looking at the BC 2017 election, 795k BC Liberals (right) gets 43 seats, 795k NDP get 41 seats, but 330k Green get 3 loving seats. Not very democratic.... and electoral reform might actually have the will of the people instead of an elite ruling class.

Yeah, how? Left-leaning vote is always being split between Libs and NDP. Seems any system that lets you have a second pick or whatever would benefit the left and "anyone but the cons" type voters.

She wanted rent control and better standards for landlords but they never let her have a go at it in 3 years and also prevent it from being brought up at any convention. I think control is generally used to rein in your backing social movements. I think left people need to be wary of all party control until caucus offices and party secretaries are committed to more than the bare minimum of social democracy. I think that the last sentence is really the key here. I agree that at the moment a more authoritarian party means in practice a more milquetoast centrist party because those are the types of people currently in power. But the left shouldn't settle for having a few decent MPPs it should be aiming to control the party. And in a hypothetical scenario where it gained such control it would be a terrible mistake if they actually attempted to behave in a more fair manner toward their defeated opponents or toward the opposition parties. Jonny Nox posted:Careful there. "But I'm righteous" is a slippery fish; especially in the hands of a politician. The planet is at most a couple decades from environmentally triggered global crisis, far right movements are gaining traction around the globe and socially damaging economic inequality has been out of control for decades. If you find yourself hand-wringing over parliamentary niceties at a time like this then maybe you're not cut out for politics. As for whether electoral reform will pull Canadian politics further right, that's possible but hard to anticipate. At the moment the sub-urbanization of the country in the last few decades already has us locked into a default right-wing position that is unlikely to disappear any time in the near future regardless of what the electoral system is.

I thought it was when a former staffer invites you to kareoke night, introduced you to their friend, you fall head over heels, and somehow end up engaged. Then you send her pictures of your ding dong. By printing them off any putting them on her pillow.

Postess with the Mostest posted:I do not understand dating in 2018 Well first you need to be an utter imbecile who's never heard of any of the most common scams on the internet, like "get a nude and then extort" or "say you already have a nude and then extort", either because you haven't hired people to tell you how not to utterly befuckulate yourself on a computer, or you hired them but did not listen to what they had to say. Then you go onto a dating website and talk to a russian robot pretending to be a woman, and it shows you some internet porn of a person it claims to be, and the rest you know.

No woman ever wants dick pics. If someone asks for dick pics you are being catfished. If you send unsolicited dick pics then you are drunk, gross, weird, a pervert, desperate, or most likely all the above.
