Assuming this is properly updated: Smith County reported 0 mail in ballots for early voting. Seems off. I thought maybe it was a weird thing of the first few early voting days, but the number never changed. https://www.sos.state.tx.us/elections/earlyvoting/2018/oct24.shtml?fbclid=IwAR0ILSvE1XzSTz3iM91h3gS54WNohwf9Vg5c1FOi4mse5nI280lcQeh6txs

Harris reporting early votes with less than 20%. Just gave Beto a +100k firewall.

Killer-of-Lawyers posted:Im on vacation, but am I reading this right? Is there a chance I can return to a home free of ted? Yes. There is a real, non zero chance that Beto wins right now. It’s gonna come down to turnout in cool, hip Harris County vs. turnout in the lovely crusty rural counties that no one wants to visit. Also Lubbock but gently caress Lubbock. I hate Lubbock almost as much as I hate Greg Abbott.

Just comparing turnout in 2016 to today, and extrapolating out (assuming 2018 turnout is 80% of 2016), looks like Beto should get a nice additional chunk of votes as Harris continues to report.

Umm... am I looking at a lovely site, or is the lieutenant governor race actually close? I just saw two sites that only have Patrick up by 3 points, but they both only show 4% of precincts reporting, which sounds off.

Harris County just pulled its early votes and know its showing Cruz ahead. Not sure what happened there.ReidRansom posted:What on this green loving earth is the point of using those lovely electronic voting machines if it still takes a loving ice age to tally them? The drives have to be delivered to a safe room before their totals can be added to the official tally.

I thought maybe it was a weird thing of the first few early voting days, but the number never changed. Yeah I mentioned this about a week and a half ago. Something is weird about that. Especially considering a lot of old people live in Smith County, so you’d think there would be at least a few who couldn’t physically get to the polls.
