I'd expect No Glory to be UTTERLY dominated by 4xJuke Sigma. That list is brutally stronk even in regular Extended.

They've got a bunch of side stuff lined up, and that list fits most of it. I4 is the top end of generic Initiative, and the only list that I think out jousts it is a TIE Swarm. TIEs will just die fighting what is effectively 4 Whispers to them, though.

I'm thinking of trying this. What are your thoughts guys? New Squadron (42) "Dutch" Vander (6) Ion Cannon Turret (3) Swarm Tactics Points 51 (49) Bodhi Rook (0) Pivot Wing (2) Tactical Officer Points 51 (41) Blue Squadron Escort (6) Adv. Proton Torpedoes (0) Servomotor S-foils Points 47 (41) Blue Squadron Escort (6) Adv. Proton Torpedoes (0) Servomotor S-foils Points 47 Total points: 196

The E-Wings I'd take two with torps and do a hit and run game. Probably not amazing, however. Edit: fang fighters with Fearless would also be contenders I think. Or even the I1 versions without Fearless. Surprisingly tough to kill when they get in close.

Gonna get 2.0 to the table for the first time with a Wave 1 event meaning it's second edition game mode. I'd like to do supernatural reflexes Vader as a centerpiece, and with only two other ship models to choose from it feels like a little mini swarm would be alright as a complement. Anybody have input on specifically how to structure it? Howlrunner and a couple other named pilots with some Juke spam? Bunch of naked academy pilots going for higher quantity? Or is there just any good pilot ability/EPT synergy with TIE fighters that I might be overlooking?

You really can't go wrong with as many of them as you can fit. If that's an awkward number of points, Howl + as many TIEs as you can fit is always good. Howl + Iden (to keep Howl alive) is even better. You should be able to fit Vader plus ~4 other TIE fighters in some combination.

ConfusedUs posted:Hey did we ever hear back from the guy who wanted a terrible list to fly at the Mynock Open? Didn't see him but I went 3-3 with three Quadjumpers, Torkil, Drea & a Z-95. 1 - Phantom w/ Juke x4 - WIN Quickest match of the day, killed one phantom per round without losing a ship. 2 - Soontir, Generic Interceptor x2 & Lambda - LOSS Took out the two generic interceptors almost immediately but Soontir flew laps around me. Came down to time, lost by 2 points. 3 - Whisper, Redline & Sai - LOSS Redline threw out 2 well placed Proton bombs before dying which crippled the Quadjumpers with crits. Managed to rock Sai for 3 rounds to take her out but Whisper picked off everyone else one by one. 4 - Tel Trevura, Nym & Talonbane - WIN Tel decided to joust the swarm and was sent back to the reserves in the second round. Nym got off a couple good bombs but in the end was a quick win. 5 - 140 point Han Solo & Wedge - LOSS Wedge was an easy target but fat Han ran train on me after that. Flew laps around the board shedding stress with Kanan, guaranteeing arc with Luke and re-rolling every die with Han. I couldn't get more than 2 ships to fire on him per round which he shrugged off with evade tokens. Rough match. 6 - Luke, Dutch & Norra in ARC-170 - WIN Dutch went down quick but Luke took out a couple quads before dying. Came down to Norra running away from Drea and the last Quadjumper until time. Finished barely ahead on points. All in all was a fun day. Expected to do worse as I started the day having never tried the list or even flying more than 3 ships at a time. Drea was MVP with the amount of re-rolls she gave. Torkil saved more than a few ships by zeroing out aces before they could throw 5 dice. If I had a 4th Quadjumper I'd drop the Z-95 in a second but overall solid.

Luke Gunner is the bid wall. 30 point Luke Gunner isn't good. But! If you play someone with a 15 point bid that they use to arc dodge, and suddenly they can't actually arc dodge....well that 15 point Luke Gunner is pretty drat strong. But, as shown, you probably die to swarms. You can actually make a few almost reasonable Han/Lando builds with Luke Gunner, but I don't know that you can arc dodge swarms hard enough any more. Edit: also how did the 4x Juke Phantoms not kill anything? I can see three quads being a really tough match, but not killing even one ship? System Open 2019 info got released, I'm looking at going to at least one, maybe two or three this year, welp. I really hope the prize wall ticket prices aren't as absurdly high as they were for destiny, because there's a hell of a lot of prize wall cards I'm gonna want to get and X-Wing games take twice as long as Destiny games, roughly.

I mean I used to play Destiny so I can whip some crap deck together, but it's hard to see on the website - the bottom of the tickets are cut off, so there's no way to know if they say "x-wing" or "destiny" or whatever. Guess I should probably pack a destiny deck just in case. edit: assuming they actually print those fancy tickets for people to use and not just have a roll of carnival tickets like they did at Adepticon last year

Mynock Squadron's podcast last week had an interview with one of the main event dudes for Cascade and I'm 99% sure he mentioned the tickets are specific to the game you played. Mainly so they have some vague idea of how much prize support to bring for each game based on the registered players. Speaking of which, I know myself a few players from the Krayts/central NC area are going to the PAX X-Wing event if anyone else ends up going. It sounds like the format is Swiss on Friday, the System Open Cut and the Hyperspace qualifier running concurrently on Saturday, and then the alternate format pods on Sunday? Swiss being Friday is weird but screw it, taking a day off work and driving 8 hours up on Thursday night because we are all dumb as hell.

On the off chance anyone is near Madison WI this weekend, GameholeCon (https://www.gameholecon.com/) is this weekend. I'm running some X-Wing on Friday, if anyone actually shows up, and FFG has a presence too. I'm demoing X-Wing and some other stuff here and there, so I imagine there will be some swag to be had.

I am trying to put together a Whisper/Redline/Tie Defender list and can’t decide between: 1. Trajectory Simulator on Redline and Sloan on Whisper or 2. No Trajectory Simulator on Redline and putting Vader on Whisper The rest of this list is Juke on Whisper, Proton Torpedoes and Proton Bombs on Redline and just a naked Delta Defender.
