Let's Talk Blood Bowl
Up until the recent revival, Blood Bowl has to be the GW game with the biggest gap between fan support and company support. For anyone who doesn't follow it, up until the game was relaunched in 2016, there had not been an official BB model released since 2004. The majority of teams were still using models (many of which weren't the greatest to begin with) released in the early-to-mid 90's, and some never got models at all. Even with this lack of support, the game maintained a fairly large fanbase on both sides of the Atlantic. So, in the meantime, dozens and dozens of proxy teams were released by several different manufacturers. The proxies range from "pretty darn good" to "what the gently caress".

Some are just not the best sculpts (although still sorta on par with some of the older GW minis):

Some of them are just offensive

And the vast majority are just an excuse to paint titties

After seeing these I can only conclude that changing the scale to make the old stuff look worse in comparison was the best possible move on GW's part.

Me too. They're dressed like halloween sexy vampires, but don't make the typical cringe of submissive poses, exposed breasts, implied victim status, or having a male "boss" character.

I mean, ok one is drinking a cheerleader ... but that's kind of the gag and somehow the cheerleader isn't sexualized.

Their design leans heavily on the GW vampire team, except the thralls are now sexy supermodels instead of dazed and bewildered Sylvanian peasants.

They could have gone with option A:

Cool pug guy, unique take on the anthropomorphized characters that are out there, since Pugs are not seen often.

Or option B (forgive my quick and dirty MSpaint edit)

Cute derpy armoured pug companion, also an awesome take since pugs are inherently dumb, so anyone willing to buy and paint up a pug model for a game is a goddamn hero.

But no, they went with option C, of nightmare fetish monster.

Looking at the actual project, https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/1799238918/canitaurs-and-felitaurs-miniatures-and-cards-set-f the Greyhound is also female and less 'sexy'. Though admittedly the cat goddess stretch goal goes right back to freaky fetish material.

They also have a selection of non-centaur doggo people and are working on more of them according to the comments.

While I agree that canine centaur things are kinda weird, at least they're unique, so props to the creator for that at least.
