I think we can all agree, Tucker Carlson is scum, and should be dealt with. But dealt with in the public sphere, separate from his family, and through destroying his reputation, not him as a person. Nobody is advocating killing Nazis, but punching them and making them feel unsafe to espouse their views in public, that's the goal.

The problem is that for years the right has hid behind the implicit civility clause of American government - that, at the end of the day, we were all batting for the same team and maybe we disagree about how to do things, but we'll go out for a beer with each other when push comes to shove. People like Carlson have rejected even this extremely cynical perspective on American politics in lieu of actively calling out the left as state criminals. At a certain point, the right will be a numerical minority ruling over a or at least attempting to rule over a numerical majority, and calling them animals, and screaming for the intervention of law enforcement. I don't believe in terrorizing children, but at this point the idea that you shouldn't gently caress with the rights of people who outnumber you three-to-one is basically backed entirely by the threat of violence, to the point where historically it was just common sense. The fact that people are protesting at his house - it's honestly a miracle no one has tried to do worse. It will get worse until somebody on the right realizes it isn't wise to keep pushing this hard. So in short, I'm not advocating for the French Revolution here but you put all the same elements in the pot and you keep cooking it the same way, what the gently caress do you think is going to happen? EDIT: To be clear I think the correct action, for organized protest, is to target where he works since that's where he does his damage but I have no control over those protesters.
