Just gotta keep walking down that road.
Anime is truly powerful, it even breaks the brains of those who don't like it.

I'm pretty sure literally all of the DR games are full of lewd jokes and go out of their way to objectify some of the female cast on multiple occasions for no reason. Depending on what you've seen of those games, you might think they are always like that. And even though they aren't they have some "jokes" that are just straight up gross and uncomfortable. DR3 had this whole "gag" with two of the monokubs acting out an abusive, incestuous rape relationship that was REALLY weird.

Jay Rust posted:

They're all young adults and teenagers. I think most of them are over 18 even in the Japanese versions.

Regardless there are two characters that look and act like preteens in DR2 and 3 so the lewd jokes involving them are pretty creepy.

EDIT: Now that I'm thinking about DR3 again I'll say one thing: the Monokubs had a stupidly catchy theme song.

Despair Girls is the only one that's downright creepy but we don't talk about Despair Girls (V3 even humorously dismisses it, writing it off completely). The main series is no raunchier than any R rated sex comedy. You see a Seth Rogen movie? Your sensibilities will be fine.

From checking the early play version of Battlefield V a bit it looks like EA caved and removed Low Rent Kratos and Cyborg Ginger Waifu. You can't even customize character's hair so it's just, uh, a bunch of generic helmets and uniforms you can choose from. rip

I'm always reminded of that statistic Bioware released after the ME trilogy was over that 50% of everybody who ever played the game made a default male soldier Shepard. People are hella boring.

Kids are actually asleep for a change so I might sneak in some more 2064. I love the aesthetic and I want to see where the plot goes but holy poo poo do some of the characters bang on far too much

I always did a paragon run as male shepard then a renegade femshep run (or maybe the other way around I can't remember) but I just used the default designs because the character creator was v bad

Same. I also liked that the default maleshep was sort of a mixed race that's vague enough I could project my own on him.

Hello chat thread. I came across a thread I made a while ago and remembered how much fun it was. It was where I was planning to split 2017 into themed months as a way to cut down on my stupidly large steam library.

Japanuary, FPSbruary, March!, April Scours to name a few of the month themes.

My PC broke in April scours and it was a big pain to me because I did not own many console games at that point and was quite poor so I could not fix it for at least three months rendering the whole thread broken.

I tried some games I probably would never have gotten round to before and those four months were great fun.

Since then my libraries across all systems have expanded and heck I want to give it another shot! A whole year of specific gaming :D

So like last time, I would love if any of you came up with some awesome Month puns with specific game types/genres I could play. I want to mix it up from last time. The only category I am keeping is 'Boo-ly: Scary games in July.'

All the rest I want a different challenge. Also if there is a specific game of a genre I am going to tackle (some people suggested some awesome games last time that I ended up getting around to much later) then please let me know and I will put them on the month :D

Systems that I can play are: PS1, PS2, PS3, PS4, PSVita, WiiU, Switch, and PC!

I will create a thread for it again, and I aim to play at least 2 different games a week, so am going to spend the rest of November and December planning it all out. (This will also be a doable New Years Resolution I feel!) I am very excited! :D

I don't know at which point it happened, but nowadays, for some reason, I always tend to pick a female character, preferably a POC with some oddly coloured or Punk-ish hair.

Just gotta keep walking down that road.
Whatever's the default choice in any given game is probably always going to be the most popular one on average. Unless elves are a racial option, then it's probably going to be elves. But only unless catgirls are also an option, then it's 100% going to be catgirls.

the details of the statistics are kind of a distant memory but i think it was popularity in the sense of how many missions were completed with them as a squad member, not like a popularity poll. which would also explain nerd nutmaker sweatwaifu tali being almost at the bottom of the list

This blows my mind. I played through 1,2 and 3 as renegade Femshep the entire time. I saved every single person except for Kaidan in 1. I cannot imagine not having Wrex throughout the rest of the trilogy. And Garrus came with me on every single mission he possibly could. I love Garrus! :D

Spending an hour carefully fine-tuning the character creation tool only to instantly delete your Shepard once they're revealed to be some horrible monstrosity in-game is a rite of passage for Mass Effect 1.
