This thread was right about the Pro Controller. The size, weight, analog sticks, and d-pad couldn't feel more comfortable. My only gripe is the lack of analog triggers, but that's more of a system-wide decision.

Oh and every player has to have their own Switch profile, and each profile behaves like a separate account (so everyone has to upgrade their own crafting levels independently for example), and if you want to play online co-op every account needs to have the online subscription, so just be aware of that. The button layouts for the menus with a single joycon are really stupid. Like just checking and equipping items is annoying, the button input to actually equip an item is click+hold the analog stick then hit the up button. Aside from that though, a single joycon works perfectly fine for actually playing the game, you do have to use motion controls to dodge but it worked 100% of the time when I tried it so can't really complain. The screen is very busy in general in co-op as you might expect, we found turning off player names and life bars help a lot. Once you get rolling and everyone's gotten used to their controls, it all works great.

I kinda like the stylized "realism". It's clearly fake, but the cartoonish style lets you more easily accept it. If they went hyper-realistic I think it would've been very unsettling. We accept the beasts in Jungle Book for example because we know what that should look like.

There's actually almost slight precedent going by really old fan theory. I don't think they'll follow it, but one long term idea is that the game is actually post-apocalypse and the monsters were biological weapons at one point in history long forgotten but are now just the ecosystem. That's why you're always finding ruins, and the best tools to fight the monsters are monster-part weapons.

while the animation is lovely and Pikachu is quite charming.. I really hope that the movie won’t be overly dominated with the first 151 pokemon. The game was incredible in that aspect, with so many different mons, but so far the trailer is filled with gen 1

Most people are only nostalgic for the originals. Everybody tried to catch all of them, and after the second game the idea of catching all of them vs. just the ones you like became prohibitive. For example, I haven't played since Ruby and I guarantee you there are more Pokemon I've never seen than those I have. Seeing Mr. Mime gave me little nostalgia pangs that I wouldn't have had from seeing... I dunno, the one that looks like a keychain

Are there any news about Sega Ages Phantasy Star? I've seen websites claiming it comes out in the US and Europe in November 2018, but also one claiming it comes out in the US/Japan on 31st October and in the EU "to be announced" Does this mean the EU won't get this game?
