First time watching it I was put off by the designs. Second time watching doesn't bother me as badly. Charizard looked waxy but I think that was just because he was out of focus.

i wish there was a better shot of Emolga and Squirtle in that trailer this thing's going to have an obscene amount of promo material showing off all these Pokemon models they made that are just used in like the background of one or two scenes

I haven't played a pokemon game since Omega Ruby - this movie looks fantastic. I'm beyond shocked, I thought detective pikachu was the dumbest idea they could do a live action pokemon movie of and they've gone and made something that I want to watch. That line of bulbasaurs walking in the stream

Yeah def going to see this. Was not expecting it to look this good at all. It looks about as good as it could be. This looks like the kind of crazy thing that the kids who are like 6 now will remember/have intermittent nightmares about/have nostalgia for, for decades.

I remember when the first Pokemon movie came out, critics were falling over themselves to point out what a silly fad pokemon was. Now here we are 20 years later, and they're making a live action movie with an A-list celebrity voicing Pikachu. What a strange timeline this is.
