Here’s what I’m currently working on, thank you for the goon who pointed me in the direction to orks having old-school sights. I still think the gun and T&E are a little too beefy- I want something more ramshackle, like the kind on the back of a pickup: Anyone have any bits ideas?

Working on a Redemptor for my Ordo Xenos dudes (The Deathwatch detachment). Pretty much done besides basing and one last pass with black to tidy up some of the larger highlights.

I thought about it but then thought it would be too much on the flat surface, and then I thought about painting on loads of text in light blue over it, like on the moulded DW pads followed by the realisation that I'd mess it up, so it's stuck at black.

Huh. I didn't think GW would ever confirm they used additive manufacturing to prototype their stuff, and yet here it is.

They've showed rapid prototypes at events for years, the earliest I remember was a translucent Ork Trukk. More recently a friend discussed what machines they use with the guy who designed the Porphyrion (which they hadn't had time to sand down).

I figured they wouldn't want to talk about it too much. If it's clear then they're using some kind of resin printer, which makes sense given their focus on detail. Could be a Formlabs Form 2 for example.

I've seen multiple rumor engines now with this actually. I found some lines on a rock on my fulgrim base too. I imagine for plastics they do additive first, followed by milling the steel molds which doesn't result in lines on the final product. But for resin models the 3d printed one has to become the master, so they missed a spot.

Did people think they were still banging out one-off molds for prototyping? I would be pretty shocked if GW wasn't 3D printing stuff.

This meant painting the Genestealer heads and hands in the same flesh colour as their 2 armed brothers in order to avoid adding an additional colour to the mix, And for new content, here's my "Jungle Daemons Maulerfiend" living statue. The razor-edged vines whipping around it count as Lasher Tendrils.

questions about tyranids: 1) similar to a question above, if I got the rule book for KT and the Nids starter box I would have everything I needed to play? 2) are the hormagaunt and termagaunt boxes the same or is it like 2 bodies sprues and 1 weapons sprue?
