IIRC, raccoons are pretty closely related to bears so yeah, they do the same winter-plumping that bears do. You could easily have a Fat Raccoon Week like ya do a Fat Bear Week. Of course, I do always worry when I see them that fat and they're someone's pet, I hope those guys do slim down when its seasonally appropriate and aren't always like that

I once chased a very fat raccoon away from out garbage cans and he was too fat to successfully do stairs and just rolled down them It was very funny but I also hate raccoons so I was glad of it

They just chunk up for winter when pickins are slim. They don't hibernate, but they do sleep a lot so they don't waste energy moving around pointlessly.
