Given their history of getting hosed over by dual eligible players, it's massive to cap-tie them. Capping new players is great, but the game itself was very much a going through the motions game. Is concacaf going to seven spots or six? Canada's troubles to make the hex mean I'm not suuuuper convinced they'll be able to get in if it's six unless the format changes. When was the last time Canada beat a central american team away? Even El Salvador with half their team on strike managed a draw.
