I loving love when someone just goes for it on an absurd piece of armor or totally unrealistic weapon/prop like that. Like, an accurate outfit, sure, that's cool. An accurate transforming hammer that turns into a rocket hammer with a pretty dang nice looking fake flame and LEDs inside? Sign me up

ah, I was misremembering, he had a different type of hammer as Masked Dedede, that's what I was thinking of. Though it seems Super Star Ultra came out around the same time as brawl, wonder who picked the rocket hammer first.

They are called 'Muay Thai ropes' in the show (actually Muay Boran) and while traditionally they are made from hemp ropes I do believe the ropes DD uses are jump ropes he took from the gym he was hanging out at. So no, context isnt a real easy explanation of why he called them 'Christian ropes'.
