Susie’s a dragon, it says so in the description of the mane axe

Heavily implies I'd say rather than it being explicit.

Also it implies that Susie's "axe" is actually a hair comb to go with Kris using a pencil as a sword :3:

Jevil was the Spade King’s court jester long ago, and Seam was his sidekick/associate, until one day Jevil met a strange person (heavily implied to be Gaster), and after speaking with him Jevil realized he was just a character in a game and went insane. He was then locked away in the dungeon for everyone’s protection because the revelation made him violently deranged and Seam hopes that you either kicking the poo poo out of him or pacifying him has finally put him to rest. And then to cap it all off, Seam quotes directly from Entry 17, “dark, yet darker.”

It's heavily implied to be The Knight. Which might or might not be Gaster or someone that also got Gaster'd. Someone Strange ties to the Knight who is referred to in text as The Strange Knight. I don't think gastor is going to be too much of an active force in the narrative.

All Jevil talks about after his defeat is What the Knight is going to do next, in both versions, with allusions to a Queen that isnt mentioned anywhere else.

The knight is explicitly a corrupting influence on the darkeners, considering how they changed spade dad. it's not a far reach to assume the Knight is the one who broke Jevil, so there are much more 'concrete' links to the Knight rather than Gaster. Another reason im skeptical of that now is that the gaster followers/goners, the only explicitly linked to gaster are colored in greyscale and much more melancholy than crazed.

hello friends thank you for this good thread. i very much like the theories of sans being a darkner and ralsei being an idealized version of kris

also i dearly hope ralsei puts his dang hat back on and keeps it there most of the time because it's kind of ridiculous how much better the hatted look is than the uncovered look

One theory about the Knight that seems at least plausible on an outside bet at this step is that it could be the discarded vessel from the intro.
At the very least, there's no use of gendered pronouns for the Knight at any point, so it'd work regardless of how you perceived your vessel.

Also on a Jevil-related bit, he refers to the Knight generally in both victory speeches, but the "Queen" is introduced in quotes. Their appearance might not be so cut-and-dried as a game piece of some sort.

You can't spare anyone during a genocide run. Also I don't think it's possible to spend money anywhere? Except maybe the bake sale. You steal from the first shop, and iirc Gerson refuses to do business with you. Tem Shop is closed... Maybe you can buy from Burgerpants?
You also have a lot of money anyway since you have to do a lot of grinding.

I mostly interpret the "I'm with you in the dark" bit in World Revolving as the heroes' leitmotif being in there since they are rising to the challenge, not as a spoopy Gaster thing. See e.g. the final fight in Chronotrigger, or Bravely Default.

"I'm with you in the dark" being the phrase that most associate with that motif actually works pretty well because that phrase in itself can be either sinister or comforting depending on the context.

I would almost print the email replies and frame them.
Older post, but yeah, Toby seems to be pretty cool. He hasn't done many interviews or anything like that, but he's willing to interact with people. He actually was the one who hired me to work on Homestuck, or rather he was the one who recruited me. At the time I told him if he ever needed some pixel art he should drop me a line--still hoping to get that call one day, even if it's not particularly likely.

Only when taken out of context of the rest of the song though. The rest of the lyrics are pretty hopeful, and even the words immediately preceding "I'm with you in the dark" - "The promise in our hearts" don't exactly sound like something Gaster Undertale a ~*~sinister villain~*~ would say to the protagonist :v:

Like I said, the lyrics do make you think but I feel like people are reaching a bit hard.

Why can't it be both hopeful/comforting and also about Gaster? A lot of people seem to be assuming he is a sinister villain (on account of how surreal/strange/alien anything related to him seems to be) but we know so little about him that seems to be jumping to conclusions. He seems to be related to Sans and Sans' meta-knowledge in some way for instance, and Sans is a good guy who only uses his powers against Chara.

I got to talk to greg kasavin and the other folks who worked on Bastion at PAX East one year. Was chatting with an employee there about the game and how much I loved it, especially the narrator, that was my favorite part. Went on for a bit and he kept egging me on, and I asked what part he worked on. Of course, he was the narrator. Totally didn't look the part, but he busted out that gravelly voice for sure. Extremely cool folks.

You can still shop with Gerson and Burgerpants. They treat you like poo poo, but their inventories and costs are the same and money is no object; it's trivial to fill up your entire inventory with Legendary Heroes or better for the final Geno boss.

e;
There are fur patterns and coloration on animals like tufts on cats that give them the appearance of facial hair. Same thing?

e2; obviously goats have tufts that look like beards which is what likely inspired that element of Asgore's design.
