Tim Rogers is ultimate proof of how necessary editors sometimes are. His writing used to be completely insufferable due to the amount of smugness and words words words. These days his work is surprisingly enjoyable.

i am maybe two pages late but... if we're recommending Splatoon 2, let me be the one to shout SALMON RUN from the rooftops. it's the best horde mode i've ever played and is addictive and fun and terrifying and your adrenaline gets jacked. the rest of splatoon 2 is great as well but the amount of time you can spend having fun grinding out salmon run waves is insane

Does splatoon still do the dumb thing where the different modes are time locked to certain times, meaning that in the handful of tens of hours of Splatoon I've played I've never once done a salmon run, only because I dont play at the right time of night?

Likewise, if every ranked mode was available all the time, I guarantee you'd have like 10 people who basically gatekeep Clam Blitz from now until the game dies. The rotation encourages playing outside of your comfort zone.

It's still really dumb, but it's a lot less bad than it used to be, since while it's not open 24/7, it's open for a lot longer and there's less downtime compared to launch where it was super easy to miss sessions.

So this insane Switch deal is apparently from a legit shop: https://www.cnet.com/news/get-a-nintendo-switch-for-179-99/ It sold out almost instantly but they said they are getting more stock. They also have game and accessory deals and I ordered Let’s Go Evee for $34 from them so hoping it’s legit and I’m not an aging fool.

I for the life of me cannot find a control method I like in Splatoon 2 which is making it really unfun and frustrating when I keep getting slatted by people who are loads better than me in whatever the main online mode is called. Does anyone have any tips or am I just going to keep bouncing off this until either I give up or it just clicks?

Watch streamers and see how they move across the map and how they use their weapons, thats your best bet (i.e. you can kind of see what sensitivity the best players generally use to accompany their playstyle).
