My girlfriend watches her stuff and says that it’s currently some of the best stuff on leftist youtube. I mostly listen to podcasts because of work, but if you’re a youtube person it seems her videos are a solid starting point.

I know I'm preaching to choir here, but the idea that there's a White race and White philosophy that transverses all of Europe, including the Romans and the peoples they conquered and enslaved...but not Ireland and Scotland for some reason...and this philosophy involves not drinking alcohol, yes, the Romans and Norse were famously teetotalers... I feel like whenever the hippie comparison comes up its worth noting that hippies were actually an extremely small slice of the boomer pie and most of them either died off or faded into obscurity. It's not that hippies "turned into" chuds, the chud demographic was always there. Most of the surviving hippies are still the same way they always were, you can find them at any major folksy festival still wearing tye-dye and hawking culturally insensitive arts and crafts, you just didn't see people talking about the chuds because they spent their time becoming middle management jerkoffs and stewing about how they gave up on fun to be "successful."

My impression was that the "hippie" culture of the 70s is similar to the "hipster" culture that sprang up in Brooklyn last decade. An earnest kernel of artistic and social expression that slowly snowballed, eventually attracting children of wealth from the opposite coast and the "culture starved" fly over states, then finally catching the eye of cynical Capital and slowly defusing as whatever original soul existed inside of it was sold off piecemeal. At the end what's left over is those few true believers and converts, while the rich kids along for the ride went home to cash out their trusts and slot back into the system.

The hippies were not progressive at all, they just didn't like how uptight society was. A lot of them were raging misogynists who would ostracize any woman who wouldn't gently caress whenever they wanted and I remember a story about some of them calling for a feminist speaker to be dragged off of a stage and raped. Even the New Left of that era seemed particularly dumb. They thought the revolution was right around the corner and they could push society over the edge by doing random property damage and layer bombings. Some of them were less dumb but they weren't really building a mass movement with any kind of solidarity.
