Tomorrow, our nation will sit on the throne of the world. This is not a figment of the imagination, but a fact. Tomorrow we will lead the world, Allah willing.

Aren't forklifts deceptively heavy? I feel like it was talked about here before. That just makes me wince harder at clips like this.

Yeah, we normally think of vehicles weight based on things like cars, which are mostly empty space behind thin body panels. Forklifts have most of their hidden space filled with solid steal or lead to act as a counterweight to their loads, with the whole back section being solid metal.

That forklift probably weighs somewhere between 4 and 5 tons. The ~600lbs of human they're adding isn't going to help that much.

Holy gently caress, the last frame has the lifting attachment bouncing off the top of the cage. Is the longer version a snuff film?

Hell, even the battery ones are pretty heavy. The battery alone needs a lift to change in and out to put on charge stations if I recall (I was 17 when operated those).

We've had a few bad operators bump into legs way harder than that - supporting dozens of thousands of pounds of ceramic/concrete/etc... in a warehouse or inside a home improvement store (Rona/HomeDepot/etc...) and nothing even came close to happening.

There is definitely something off with those supports if they decided to take a nap so easily.

It’s like lead acid batteries were made for forklifts.

They’re cheap and being heavy is an advantage.

You mean it happened in China and was recorded and posted here not long ago.

I'm quite certain someone in China dies from a forklift at least once a week.

We have a fun little saying at work that none of our Semi drivers have a full set of teeth cos meth or whatever. Enter new driver. Completely green to the career but has all the licences from his employment agency. Also all his teeth. That lasted a week until he knocked out two slipping while unloading a trailer. He is super pissed about it but someone in our office won the bet on how long it would take.

This one isn't bad at all though, since there's no point to taking Washington street. There are two parallel streets one block north and south that are larger - Liberty has a level crossing, and Huron has a 14'2 bridge.

edit: I am pretty sure the 11'8 bridge is bad because there are very few alternate routes

I've never had to deal with the subcontractors that had to deal with that. I'm assuming that's commercial though it could be residential in a McMansion.
But I understand that I'm being uncharacteristically optimistic. I did once work for a cement company that knew their poo poo, and I'm spoiled for that.

Not even close.

11'8" bridge is at the pin and is one-way southbound. As you can see, if they turned left before the bridge, drove ~400 meters, went around the roundabout a little and then turned right, they'd be back on track. It's maybe a minute out of someone's busy day.

They're just following their phone's directions and paying zero attention to the road.

Edit: had my units wrong.

So is it muddy there or something? Is slipping over in a way that you can knock out teeth somehow a risk that can't be mitigated in your workplace? I suppose that losing a few teeth probably won't ruin your life - I guess you can get replacements that work pretty much like the originals, not like if you lose a limb or something - but it seems kinda bad if that's normal?

Sounds like the same mentality behind hazing. They don't have teeth, so it's fair if everybody new has to lose them too.
