We actually don't need multiple physics grids. Technically speaking you need nested volumes of space that have their own instance of "world physics". I think Elite Dangerous has this incorporated into their engine. Physics grids are just plates that have been smothered with

I will grant though, that the exterior looks a lot better than the one from the hangar. Much closer to the modern aesthetic. Still ugly as gently caress, but more detailed.

I'm dissapointed. I had assumed (rear end-u-me-d) that the free fly weekend would actually, you know, be free. Apparently not, you still need at least a $75 starter package. So, i guess i'll have to pass on experiencing the awesomeness that is Star Citizen until they do make an actual free fly weekend.

I see so many backers still doing all kinds of dreamy speculation about ships, ship roles, how they will upgrade to such and such LTI or non LTI package, how they will use such and such ship with or without org members and on and on... I am not surprised at all that the funding tracker still appears as healthy as a rock. But when this project comes to a screeching halt (or to a crappy Early Access) it is going to be all kinds of fun seeing the puzzlement in all of those currently "business as usual" fans.
