Apparently Disney's plan is to keep the new streaming service more kid friendly, but also have more adult oriented shows on Hulu since they own the majority of it as well (they also plan to expand Hulu beyond the US in the next year.)

The Marvel shows are really bad. Especially the skinny, nonthreatening Punisher. I laugh every time I see that little kid playing dress up. Also, making Wilson Fisk a goony weeb was terrible. Jessica Jones was 10 episodes too long. Luke Cage wizzed itself when Cottonmouth was written out and that robo dork became the villain. And I didn't watch Iron Fist because even the cast and crew don't give a gently caress about Iron Fist.

Don't forget that we're not getting a third Guardians movie because the Disney exec that fired James Gunn has too much pride to admit he's wrong, so he's going to continue to side with internet nazis and not acknowledge he fell for a bullshit smear campaign.

Watching him take out a bunch of dudes like in the comic there is kind of boring because it's the most rote, expected way of making him seem dangerous. Making him an unpredictable weirdo in addition to still being physically imposing, having a ton of money, and men with guns makes him seem a lot more interesting and more threatening than just "is a mob boss". Plus, D'Onofrio does an amazing job. Same with the Punisher. Frank Castle is supposed to be a broken murderer with the worst case of untreated PTSD. Not making him a giant mass of muscle but just a dude living out his Jack Bauer power fantasy is true to the character. It's also kind of a fun way to mess with the sorts of fans who don't get the point of the comic who just want giant shooty man stabbing people in almost pornographic detail.
