At Fred Trump’s wake, at the Frank E. Campbell funeral home, his son stepped forward to address the political, real estate and society power brokers in the crowd. One attendee recalled Mr. Trump’s unorthodox ode to his father, which Mr. Trump confirmed.

“My father taught me everything I know. And he would understand what I’m about to say,” Mr. Trump announced to the room. “I’m developing a great building on Riverside Boulevard called Trump Place. It’s a wonderful project.”

Mueller has to file the Information on Manafort’s breach of the plea deal by Friday. If any of the new charges stem from coordination with Trump, it should come out then.

It’s been theorized that Manafort and Trump’s behavior may have waived privilege, and that Trump’s responses to Mueller may be untruthful by coordinating with Manafort.

I mean seems safe. I don't think Democrats would end the filibuster and pack the court at the same time. That seems like not a great idea. I was sort of hoping this present Congress would end the filibuster but that seems unlikely now.

Man, I used to be one of these guys. Then at some point I realised the things from my childhood still exist somewhere if I want to look at them again (I usually don't), and kids today have different things that are more relevant to the world they live in, and that's okay.

The police report said the victim accused him of hitting her with pillows and then dragging her across the room and the prosecutor declined to prosecute because they didn't believe they could convict, presumably because his defense would've been "Yeah, we fought, I got mad and threw some pillows at her and then tried to physically throw her out of my hotel room, which was wrong and I am sorry."

Three Mar-a-Lago club members friendly with President Trump were reportedly given access to review a $10 billion government contract to overhaul electronic health records for veterans even though they had no prior experience in the field.

The three men, Marvel Entertainment chairman Ike Perlmutter, West Palm Beach physician Bruce Moskowitz and lawyer Marc Sherman, were given unprecedented access to confidential documents and shaped policy at the Department of Veterans' Affairs (VA), according to emails obtained by ProPublica through a Freedom of Information Act request.

The trio had no health information technology or federal contracting experience but were listed among more than 40 experts reviewing the government contract, including hospital executives and university health system administrators.

Records obtained by ProPublica show the men editing the budget and being placed on an "executive committee."

Emails also show Moskowitz negotiating to get the VA and Apple to use a cellphone application he developed.

Ending the filibuster would require only the Senate and would be pretty much a requirement for the Democrats to pass any legislation. It has already been extremely pared back already - its only technically still in place, imo.

If court packing becomes something the Senate Democrats would consider, the filibuster would be long dead. It's a bizarre assumption, like assuming you'd have to get McConnell on board with court packing because he's currently the majority leader.
