Wow. So after this weekend I am out of pinaps and ultra balls. Sweet. My Gotcha was working overtime so I'm very low on red balls, too. I got my missing shinies (mareep/bulbasaur), got at least one new special move dude of nearly every kind except for Metagross (because I already have 6  ) Mostly though I put the new candy into improving already-good monsters. I only got a bare handful of good, high-IV stuff; most catches were sent straight to the glue factory.

Welp I now have 10 Smack Down Tyranitars, and four Meteor Mash Metagross. Add that on top of the obscene amount of other really good fighters i think I'm set for a while.

Small town living makes it hard to match everyone else's numbers, but I did manage to add shiny Dratini and Mareep to my collection. Still missing Bulbasaur and Pikachu but made a shiny Metagross to give my wife and I have at least one of every special move Pokemon now so not too shabby.

Bummed that I didn't get a chance to do some real hunting during the event due to weather/hurting my foot but at least I managed to snag a shiny Pikachu and Larvitar (as well as getting just enough candy to evolve a 90+% Pupitar to a smackdown TTar).

40 shinies over the entire weekend, 24 of which were during the 3 hours. About 1000 each of Larvitar/Dratini/Beldum candy after I trade away my extras. The only thing I didn't do was trade swap with someone to force luckies, which admittedly is a huge shame. Also finally got the gold dragon medal.

Walked out yesterday in the drizzling rain after the sun had set to the nearby park with my girlfriend to top up on candies to evo my first Tyranitar, Ampharos, Venusaur and Dragonite. After a little while, she said she was going to head home, but asked me if I wanted her to bring her car to some Pokestops nearby and park there so we could catch them without the annoyance of rain. I said no, it was fine, she headed back, and I started walking around the park to continue catching. I got a new phone recently, and it comes with the option to hide notification popups when you're in a game, which I had on. So I didn't notice the message she had sent me telling me to stay where I was because she decided she was bringing the car, or that she had called me, and only saw the call the second time. Turns out when I didn't respond (I'm usually quick to), she looked around the park but couldn't find me, and freaked out that I must have gotten kidnapped 'by a Pokemon Go creep' after they saw she left me all alone. I thought that was really funny, but then on late Friday night, I also had a police car take notice of me PoGoing, and follow ahead of me until I was near home. Maybe I do need to worry about being Pokidnapped?  At least I got the evos I wanted. Now I just have to get Blastoise and Charizard some other time.

I just tend to not play more than an hour or two after dark, unless i'm in the heavily populated part of downtown. I'd rather not get mugged.

I didn't get any shiny 'mons, but I'm happy with my haul. Evolved a pair of Metagross, a 3rd T-tar, and a high-powered Venusaur. I also hatched myself a perfect Treecko, so hey, unexpected bonus.

I would like to be able to draft more than five premade Pokemon teams. Twenty would be a nice round number that would also let me have a team for each Pokemon element. It would also be cool if Pokemon about to expire on their world timers would show it somehow, like by jumping on the world screen. I missed a Dratini amid two Larvitars because I had no way to know the Dratini was about to time out.

Making the Pokemon jump around restlessly when its about to vanish (or even just play any kind of animation other than the ordinary idle one) would be an intuitive, natural way to convey information to the player and would add a little life to a game that's kind of static and barren at times. Obviously this means it'll never happen.

Aside from the sucky weather on the first day managed to do pretty well and get at least one of everything I needed. But it was only after I evolved all my best Ttars that I realised I forgot to evolve the shiny and now I only have 50 candy  Also on a salty note, gently caress this game for giving me 5 pinaps instead of a Sinnoh stone for 7 day research and gently caress it again for giving me only balls and stardust for walking 50 loving k last week.

This Community Day was a pretty nice catch-up for me, having just come back mid-October after not having played since a little after launch. As an idea, I came back to trainer level 23ish (now 27) three 'mon above 1500 CP (all Tauros), no shinies, and fairly marginal progress in the last month. CD haul: 6 shinies (2 Larvitar, Squirtle, Cyndaquil, Chickorita, Beldum) 2 MM Metagross 2 FP Venusaur 2 DM Dragonite 2 SD Tyranitar 1 BB Typhlosion 1 BB Charizard 2 Jolteon,1 Vaporeon, 1 Ampharos, evolved after CD because the exclusive moves are apparently meh. All mostly in the 2500+ CP range. Also a little surprised how many people turned out for the three-hour window. I haven't seen many people actively playing around here, but there was a good 25-30 people wandering around the area obviously tossing balls or with chargers connected as they roamed.

And I still feel like we have a lot because half of these are churches.

Plus people from out on properties and in the bush I GUESS but it's still a lot of churches). It's a statue/fountain of a fisherman in the park which tbh is probably the most visited landmark in the town because everyone traveling out to the dam (a lukewarm tourist hotspot) stops there for lunch so it gets loads of phone traffic, comparably. Also if you are from my home town or nearby I have effectively doxxed myself now.

After being sick for the past month I finally started running again and hit 50k on adventure Synch. Made sure to leave egg slots open, and almost ran out of balls in the process. Logged in today to me and the kid and got balls and dust... Was really hoping for a 10k egg since it seems like anecdotally more people got gen4 hatches from those eggs. Oh well, got a ton of good stuff this weekend. A few more of all the shines, and multiple good lucky trades that got evolved.
