It's called Samyang Hot Chicken Ramen which apparently even has a Youtube challenge associated with it that I wasn't even aware of until a long time after trying it out. It tastes like delicious chili flavoured lava and intelligent people who aren't me eat it regularly by not using the entire spice packet.

I mean it's got everything I could ever want and there's one close enough to me. And it's dirt loving cheap, the last time I went there I got a whole pineapple for under a dollar. It's broken up about 70/15/15 between Korean/Indian/Latin food.

bird food bathtub posted:They made a new(ish) kind of can opener that doesn't go on the side and punch down through the top of the can but instead goes on the top and slices through the little tiny rim around the side. They are super cool. The lid acts as a lid even after you cut it open. It just slides right back on and seals up the can just fine for putting leftovers back in the fridge. It also does not leave sharp edges as it cuts through. If you're using a can opener on the regular I really recommend one. See, this is the kind for quality current event information that I come to this thread for. I just bought one on Amazon.

There's also this great Indian grocery store in Catonsville where you can get any obscure Indian spice you need.

We've got a few Cermak Fresh Markets (a small Chicago/Milwaukee chain) which are mostly Mexican but also basically pan-international food. Think if you crossed a normal Mexican grocery store & Whole Foods. Having hundreds of thousands of Mexican/hispanic immigrants owns for good food, no Tex-Mex bullshit but just straight unadulterated good food for dirt cheap.

The thing that always makes me laugh about spices is that most regular American stores sell cumin in a tiny little container and it costs like, six dollars. At any ethnic market you can get it by the tub practically and it costs less, somehow.

I know everyone is way past the tuna talk and on to ramen now, but I can't ever remember seeing canned tuna that didn't have a pull-ring. Why is anyone even talking about can openers? Or am I just a troglodyte that's never had 'good' canned tuna?

The trouble is that the spice packet also serves as the flavor packet, so you end up with noodles that are less spicy but also less flavorful. Still delicious!
