There is the Kia SUV or whatever where the loving turn signals are down low on the rear bumper

edit: This. Who the gently caress thought putting the turn signals down that low and away from the traditional light cluster was a smart idea? The white things are the turn signals that blink amber.

Some years of the Discovery II had the reverse lights down low and the turn signals up high, and others had it the other way round. I think they were trying to copy the look of the Volvo 850 wagon and didn't do a great job of it in that case (the Disco I had more sensible tail light placement)

I've only noticed GM vehicles doing this, are there other brands that do? It's super dumb.

The high type gets blocked by the spare tyre from some angles which is why it isn’t allowed in some countries.

The second gen Lexus GS was the first car I remember having that feature. I gather it made more sense in the JDM car, with the red e-brake indicator taking up one side. It's always nice when the owner has replaced the bulbs with leds. Assholes.

There's a big red area, and a big clear area, so naturally both the brake lights and signal lights are blazing red LEDs in the clear part.
Yeah, that's way worse than the aussie version. In our navara the brake light is on top, then a clear indicator (with orange bulb), then rev light, then red reflector and the useless wrap around red lense around the side.

Thankfully in some newer GM vehicles you can switch that poo poo off. I switched it off on the Volt and would be good with a software update that permanently locks it out, because it’s a poo poo-tier idea.

Quick and dirty, but theres so much extra loving truck. I got rid of the extra grill and lowered it a little to vastly increase front sight line and engine bay access.

Concur. Good God that's ugly, and I *hate* signals above the headlights, and the fact that they have to do so, because they made it so bloody tall.

I think you basically just moved the front bumper up, right? I've noticed that most of the current trucks have a super long face because they have to keep the bumper height low for crash safety (for other cars...) but still made the trucks ridiculously tall.

Ford had this solved in 1999. 4x4 f250s got a "Crash bar" bolted underneath the frame.
