Primarily at a friends house cause he has the 6x4 table. Or rather the 6x4 bit of mdf on a 5x3 table. I also don't really have any interest in playing against anyone that I don't already know cause this game is way too much of a time investment to spend it with random people.

Orks are apparently p.-to-v.deece, and with viable builds other than (or "in addition to") green tide.

Prepare to be disappointed about not being disappointed! Unless you wanted to play Stompa, which they didn't bother to play test or something. If that's what you wanted, you'll be happy to know you'll be disappointed.

From experience, you should have a good time! I won't say Orks are going to steamroll every single army type, but they're very capable of putting up a competitive game against most armies from the games I've played and also watching battle reports. If you loving love rolling dice, and then potentially rolling more dice, you're gonna have a lot of fun, especially if you manage to get a Dakkastar (25 Loota's, made through the Mob Up Stratagem, with the More Dakka strat applied to them) into position to shoot priority targets.

Or just Da Jump a mob of 30 boyz with choppa's into some infantry and throw around ~120 dice just for their hits (assuming you don't get overwatched super badly)

Parsing sage, rotating time

I've been going over my first forays into building and painting, and I'm getting increasingly annoyed by, well, everything about the Kastelans. I want to repaint them to fit in better with my other Mars forces, but I also want them to be of the shooting variant, since they're pretty much my only melee unit, and I'd rather just go all in on the dakka. Has anyone tried converting Kastelans from punchybots to dakkabots? What is the best / least worst way of doing it?

Orks will gently caress poo poo up. They are pretty strong, and the 30-Boyz example can be made into a 40-Boy mob through the Mob Up strategem.

I was so disappointed with the last Ork codex that I wrote my own, and this one seems even more fun, flavorful, and strong than mine. If I still played Orks, I'd be fuckin' ecstatic. The new sculpts are baller, everyone can focus on their favorite aspect of list building and play, there's a ton of flexibility, and Orks can poo poo Command Points like a proppa (War)Boss.

Ghazk, those Grotcanicus are incredible. Anyone here would throw our looted knights in with that lot any day, holy poo poo o7

Pretty much entirely at my "local" GW store, but the regulars are all cool. My friend has terrain so we can play in his kitchen (Kill Team makes it real easy to setup a table) but he's got two kids so that kind of cramps the schedule.

If they don't change it from the index, a normal squad can take 3, dominions can take 5, and it's already one of the best options as it is.

I've seen either on shapeways or thingiverse wrist-mount blasters you can use to make them serve double purpose.

Otherwise you should be able to just xacto knife them off, though I recall the rear was a bit concave so might be a bit messy to get at the post of the wrist joint and depending on how much glue was used. From there you could just throw some 1/4” flat magnets in.

darnon posted:

I'd absolutely recommend this. I magnetized all the arms and weapons on my Kastelan's, so I can easily swap between dakka and punchy. It was really easy to do while assembling them, but it might be a bit more work having to get them in place on fully-assembled robots.

Is anyone else disappointed in Admech's Cybernetica Cohort detachment? Turning Heavy into Assault doesn't help you when Kastelans can't move at all when in Protector Protocol. I was hoping it would allow Battle Protocol changes to take effect immediately, rather than at the start of the next battle round. Wasn't that the behavior of the equivalent detachment in 7e?
