So that guaranteed habitable systems thing is apparently more of a guideline rather than an actual rule. I just had to dump my first 2.2 game because I found other empires territory before I found a single planet we could live on.

Also I found the trade system equivelent of the pile-of-mineral-asteroids from previous patch. 14 raw trade value, not bad!

One thing I miss with the new district system is that every district on every planet is exactly as productive. A super fertile region just means more potential farms, rather than that one farm being more productive per-worker.

It would be cool to somehow fit in special planet features that actually gave a bonus to a single job/district and your workers would just auto-work the best bonus. So you could have a super-fertile district giving +2 food and the the first farmer-job on the planet would then get that +2 bonus.

That was something I thought about just now as well, it's not a huge loss but I do miss it a bit.

It's real, when you're making a custom race, go through the Starting System options to get one called Random Unary II (I think, the tooltip will say for sure). Don't think it's DLC but idk for sure.

Well, growth is still god, so are minerals, since you need hundreds to build those planet buildings to make everything else go. Every new planet is a new alloy factory and research building at least. And Alloys basically gates all space construction. These all make sense. Mastery of Nature is very important, I'd think. Whether you're balancing out or making a specialised world, two more districts is still big, The blocker reduction is also good, because the base costs are pretty huge.

I don't know what's up with the AI personalities.

I've got a Federation Builder and Peaceful Trader next to me. They both started out with positive relations, they love that I'm the same authority. I'm egalitarian materialist. I instantly guaranteed their independence. Within months they both closed their borders then rivaled me. We're equivalent. Does the AI flip its poo poo and see you as a forver-rival the moment your borders touch?

what size of galaxy do you play on? it's possible that 2.2 was a net loss for small and medium, but a net gain for large and huge, since pop numbers no longer affect speed as much if at all

What exactly does a commercial pact do? The game needs way more tooltips for diplomacy and diplomatic offers need a bit of meta text to explain the mechanics of what it all means.

I'm wondering if the patch messed up the personalities, I also started next to a Federation Builder with almost the same ethics as me who rivaled and closed borders to me a month after I found them, and my borders weren't even close since I'd barely started expanding.

I am getting stuttering despite none of my CPU cores/my GPU being used more than 40-50% at the highest speed. Since the simulation is running fine whatever is happening looks more like GPU lag, but my GPU is having zero issues so

"I want to see what she's in love with."

The 'scrap the bunker-bot' event should maybe give alloy instead of minerals, now that you need that for ships.

Growth rate seems like it may be stronger, every pop is a flat cost of 100 instead of scaling. It is taking like 20 months per pop for me, which is a pretty good clip.

Pro-tip for playing robits: Resettle is key to growth. A starting colony makes 1/100 robits base. A size 5 colony with robit building building makes 2/100 base. I did not do this and colonized 6 planets that slowly grew and now my economy is awful because robit planets don't become a netbenefit until you hit 10 or so pop due to the number of pops you need doing robit building.

Edit: Also, as robits, the frequency at which is see food techs in my society research pull is aggravating. Just regular old robits. Why would I need food?
