There's a lot of poo poo about to drop today (Cohen details, Manafort details, one more thing I'm forgetting) so chances are he was alerted last night about it and he's been stewing mad about it all night.

The inevitable biopic about this whole administration is going to be some A-list actor fishing for an Oscar but will be footage of them on the can just angrily yelling for two hours.

yea, it's human nature, but that's the "Why pass any laws if some people will break them argument.txt"

Also, like any conspiracy, intercepting communications is necessary to prosecute government corruption. This helps with that.

I ask myself why this sort of legislation hasn't already been passed in a unified "law and order" government that doesn't have an incentive to care about privacy. I keep circling back to that. Maybe the technology isn't there, I can't speak to that part.

I feel like there's not exactly a huge multitude of white collar crimes just waiting to be prosecuted if we could just only please have backdoor access to every electronic device please.

Most encryption used today is not possible to break because of the math involved. So even if they pass a million pie in the sky laws it won’t make a difference.

Which is why this law is laughable. Inserting known errors into encryption scheme's to enable backdoors basically means the encryption could be easily broken without needing to use the backdoor.

The law contains a provision that would give companies a loophole if the changes to the system weaken its performance, but it doesn't contain any definitions of what that actually means. So in theory, they could force them to replace the standard asymmetric encryption with something that has a backdoor.

Most of the damage Donnie has done is going to build for years. So we probably won't know how bad it is for a while. Not to let W off for getting thousands killed for nothing, further destabilizing the Middle East, and the recession. All of which created a situation where Donnie could win.

W probably hasn't raped anyone.
