Once you get a villager to ten hearts (eight if they're a marriage candidate you're not dating) then their relationship level will never drop, even if you never talk to them again. This is true of every villager EXCEPT the one you're married to. Your spouses relationship level will always be capable of going lower, and if you stop talking to them it will go down very quickly.

Some of the spouse even have special depressed dialogue where they talk about how sad they are once their heart levels get low enough (Abigail, Sebastian, Leah, and Sean do for sure) and won't get out of bed. None of them will ever leave though.

The answer is, mate, because I want to do you slowly. There has to be a bit of sport in this for all of us. In the psychological battle stakes, we are stripped down and ready to go. I want to see those ashen-faced performances; I want more of them. I want to be encouraged. I want to see you squirm.

Have they said if the multiplayer on Switch is going to require the host to be online for the others to play, or will all players who share a farm be able to hop in and out whenever they want?

It's 1.3. You'll probably get similar session play where the host has to be live for the farm to be loaded. Cool that you can do proximity play with multiple switches without the internet.

Made an online farm since the Switch update, played a bit and then quit. Came by later to try to join up and couldn't find it anyway.

Do I need to manually save so my farm doesn't get deleted or something?

What pattern?

A string of 10-15 losses, then a repeating pattern of win, loss (2-5 I think), repeat.

The string of losses is set and based on your luck at the time. Simplest: bet 10 until you get a win, bet 10 then 100 then 10 then 100 (etc.) until the string of losses starts again. The magnitude of the wins is higher with higher luck.

This is a lot of new info, so here’s a summary:

My top priority is to see the 1.3 multiplayer update come to Xbox One & Playstation 4, and for issues with the Switch patch to be addressed.
I am working on a new game, but I’ve put it on hold in order to create a new Stardew Valley update (1.4).
French, Korean, Italian, and Turkish translations are in the works, though they may not come out until early next year.
I plan on forming a team to help me work on new Stardew Valley content (beyond 1.4)
Once the team is in place, I’ll divide my time between Stardew Valley and my new game.
I am now self-publishing on all platforms except Nintendo Switch and mobile.

Thanks so much for reading and have a great weekend

Yes, but a sleazy publisher is different from hiring workers. I've been lucky and only worked with good people so far, but the truth is, the only one in the entire world you can trust not to half-rear end your project is yourself. Everyone else has their own interests at heart; you are the only person who this project means the most to. When you bring in contractors or salaried developers, the completion or continued success of your work is out of your hands, and falls to people who by nature are unable to care more about it than you do.

You'll get your all bark and no biters and you'll get your skilled but lazy fuckers, and every once in a while you'll find someone who actually is a professional and can stick to their contract. Your own game is your baby, but to everyone else, it's just a chance to get paid or break out or whatever their own motivations are.

It should be, but I think online defaults to looking for hosted games and you have to switch tabs to host your own game

This is speaking from pc experience though, not sure about switch
