prefect posted:you know those chocolate-covered espresso beans you can buy as a candy? are those the same kind of beans that get ground up to make coffee? if so, does that mean you can just eat any espresso beans directly? there's nothing special about "espresso" beans. it's all just coffee. go nuts.

My 5 year old took a big ‘ol sniff of some beans I was grinding the other day then reached and took an English Gentleman’s Snuff Pinch sized pinch of the grounds and ate them. I was preparing my normal “Well, what did you learn?”  speech I use whenever he does an dumb, then he asked for more and took another scoop.
