Trapezium Dave posted:The group voting tickets were heavily skewed against the Greens and the Socialists. I was playing around with Antony Green's calculator before the election and the usual result in most districts was the Green candidate would get something like 0.8 of a seat before all the other minor parties started pooling up each others votes to push them ahead. So it's the preference whisperers. Is preferential voting getting gamed to the point of broken? I know I was dark on Shorten last week but after the Jericho article I started thinking about how much can be put down to the preference system and it's effect of rewarding the least disliked. I still think the ALP shouldn't let itself be caught bait and switching on policy but I also figured it's dumb to expect Bernie Sanders style campaigning when preferences can bite your arse that hard.

I thought the norm in Melbourne was to wait 49 minutes in traffic before you even see a CBD. Why should Brisbane be held to account for your poo poo ability of finding decent real estate? I've seen great prices in Brisbane and just because you didn't doesn't mean it's Brisbanes fault. Brisbane is strong and beautiful.

I guess from Anidav's perspective, I can't complain about Toowong too much. After all, I didn't have to deal with an infestation of rats so it wasn't that bad.

I just live in the real world. The light and the dark the angels and demons. Queensland trains you to be the best. I have no time for some soft belly city posters who only know the pain of papercuts and broken air conditioning.

Saw on Facebook some fake article making the rounds claiming that Tanya Plibersek's husband is a drug lord and the master plan is to elect Labor so they can legalise drugs so the Plibersek drug empire can sell lots of drugs. A top secret plan until this unknown website figured it out.
