Objective: kidnap him and bring him to Mars.” Nowadays it'd probably be the text from Jingle All the Way... or Spider-Man. I still can't get over how genuinely good that movie is, considering the director's only other two movies were softcore porn.

With all the talk of the xenomorph mouth, I'm surprised nobody has mentioned moray eels and their secondary phaerangel jaws that basically work the same way.

Well with the size of the xenomorph the tiny mouth (My coworker and I have decided that all the tiny mouths are called Tim, by the way) couldn't possibly be the way that it gains nourishment. The xenomorph is too big and it's Tim would have to be eating non-stop to provide adequate sustenance. I'm gonna ask Ridley Scott on Twitter. Maybe he'll know.

So a xenomorph is really a butterfly/spider hybrid when you think about it...

ruddiger posted:Yeah, but I think he means why a mouth instead of a tooth/fang or a barbed stinger. The inner mouth's stalk is cavernous and ribbed so more than likely it's an extension of the esophagus, which probably means the outer mouth is more for tearing and maiming, so when it attacks it probably goes inner mouth strike, outer mouth tearing/maiming, inner mouth slurping up the goo. Wasn’t there a scene in AvP:R that pretty blatantly showed the xenos using their secondary mouths to eat some of the dumb teens they kill?

Not really, it uses the mouth as a tool to bash holes in their skulls but I don't remember there being a scene where we see them actually eat with it.

I also don't understand how it has been hailed as "woke" or feminist, considering that the main character uses extreme violence on herself for masturbating male costumers, who get off on seeing a woman bleed. The ending also didn't make any sense (is she going to keep breaking her nose every time the AI comes back?) not to mention that the mother helping her makeup before she whores herself out again was just cringy as all hell.

Besides the start pumpkin head himself doesn’t appear til over halfway through the movie. I want more footage of the demon monster killing people not lance Henrickson being sad and some teenager being a douche!

This whole topic reminds me that when I saw Alien for the first time when I was like 8 or 9, I was under the impression that the little chest burster and the adult alien were in fact two completely separate entities, and that the chest burster found the alien on board the ship (who in this version, I guess was just another stowaway from the planet surface), and attached itself into the mouth of the adult alien, kind of like the parasites that attach themselves inside fish mouths. e: also, hearing that this thread is going to get locked is kinda bumming me out.
