Someone explain to me why republicans hate mexicans. Illegal mexican immigrants working under the table is basically slavery. Republicans/confederates liked owning slaves. Republicans should be the ones to love and encourage mexicans to come to the united states and cut their lawn or whatever for pennies under threat of immediate deportation.

The fear that's been relayed to me by conservative relatives and media is the paranoia of a cultural takeover by a Hispanic majority. I've gotten repeated anecdotes of towns that no longer speak English and are overrun with crime ("it's part of their culture"). They envision a day that the percentage of whites drops by one percent and suddenly they're an oppressed minority.

He grew up in El Paso surrounded by Hispanic culture and is fluent in Spanish. You would call a person of Irish heritage born in any other majority Hispanic place Hispanic (see for example Anthony Quinn, aka Antonio Quinn). There are literally millions of people of Irish descent living in South and Central America. Like yeah okay El Paso is not a country, but then again, neither is Puerto Rico.
