I have had Day of the Animals in my server for ages and apparently never actually watched it....until last night. I don't know if it's just that un-memorable, or if my brain has purged all memory of this thing from itself to protect me.

The entire plot with Leslie Neelsons character in day of the animals is just insane until it culminates with him trying to fist fight a bear while the guy with little girl plot is so absurd it reads like the most heavy handed critique of capatilism possible.

He murders a man with a walking stock for talking back to him, then still shirtless tries to rape a woman in a thunderstorm only to see a bear coming, turn, and attempt to fist fight it while cussing it out. It is absolutely bizarre

Good on the Rifftrax crew for powering through A Talking Cat!?! and not losing their minds until the end credits, which I found hilarious.

In the Film Crew riff of Killers from Space, Mike says that the reason so many old movies constantly show close up headshots staring blankly was because of this one French actor that died during filming and the director being a weirdo included the shot of the now-dead actor in the film. I tried looking it up what they were talking about but had no luck. In part because I have no clue how the actor or director's name was spelled (Arobige?) Can someone help me with this? EDIT: I've really come to enjoy Bridget and Mary Jo's riffs, they feel like they're the closest to Joel-era MST3K out of all the riffing teams. I love bridget and mary jo because most of their riffs have a personal touch or plot thread with them like two friends. The discussion of prom/not going to prom, the fact mary jo doesnt know what you do at parties where you drink, or the one about woman that they inserted photos of themselves into. Ill ride or die for Elliot and Ian, dont care who knows.

Bridget and Mary Jo riffs are also less aggressive and come off as more of them having fun with the whole process. Unlike the guys where they're more antagonistic with the movies.

I recently stumbled upon the old 2007 riff of Mariah Carey's Glitter that's a Mike/Mary Jo riff and it's a great pairing

Jesus, I just commented a few of my favorite bad movies to procrastinate at work, and I might very soon have the top comment on this post: Rifftrax: "Let's try something: Summarize a B-Movie you'd like us to riff in one picture." And that's awesome. If they riff Kiss Meets the Phantom of the Park because of me, I'll be buying that day 1. EDIT: And holy poo poo I just learned thanks to another commenter that they already did Viva Knievel, a movie I discovered existed by accident a few weeks ago. I know what I'm watching this weekend now.... BaronVonVaderham fucked around with this message at 19:23 on Dec 5, 2018 |

That would be great but there's never been a decent release of that movie and I believe that's because Paul and Gene use their resources to prevent that from happening, which they would almost certainly do to a riffed version too. Gene doesn't have a sense of humour about himself or the band at all and is a litigious guy. On the other hand, if they offered him enough cash, he'd sell you anything, but I don't believe Rifftrax has the cash that would be required.

Also love Bridget and Mary Jo. They're the most prone to fall back into Minnesota mom accent at the drop of a hat, which works really well for some of the "You need a fridge, post-war lady" shorts they do. Duties of a Secretary is such a classic episode. "This is harder for me to watch than Saw!"
