Kane/Lita gets it for me because of all the poo poo I couldn't give about Linda. The flip side of this feud is much worse and I will likely be voting for that. Went with Crown Jewel partially because duh and partially because Ole is a gently caress and I feel no sympy for him. What would anti-trust proceedings against an entertainment monopoly even look like?

As far as purely fictional WWE storylines go, Kane/Lita has to be up there with the worst. Rapist turning sympathetic face, miscarriage turned into comedy.

I was watching old Network stuff with friends and we watched Cyber Tuesday or whatever show it was with the Beeboo Crawshanks and we were all blindsided when the Kane/Lita angle came into play. Pretty well floored by the notion that anyone would run that storyline, jesus.

Just as a matter of practice throughout the tournament, when it's stuff the McMahons do to each other either backstage or on camera I find it far less offensive because whatever, they all agreed as a family to be scumbags to each other. They didn't have to buy into it; Shane took off for several years. It's when they rope a worker into their scumbag family angles because they're in no position to say no that I have a problem. Stuff like Vince taking advantage of Linda's soap opera coma or saying he "deflowered" Stephanie by passing her around to his colleagues is just the carny McMahons being carny McMahons, but things like Lita is a slut or Trish barking like a dog are way more hosed up to me. If they're up against each other, I'll vote for the latter every time.

Yeah this is one side even though the Punk stuff is bad, Owen was forced to do a stunt he didn't want to do and they used bad rigging and they covered it up. Just gets me super angry every time it comes up

This is the first I've heard of the equipment actually be lovely and wrong and it not just being a freak accident. So...an instance where somebody should have gone to jail for criminal negligence if not outright manslaughter. And didn't. It's really hard to ever vote against a company getting blood on their hands because of criminal stupidity. It really comes down to do you think in terms of individuals or in terms of demographics.

The Lapsed Fan episode on that PPV reads directly from Martha’s book extensively, particularly for her recreation of what happens that she thoroughly, thoroughly researched to the point of walking the same path he did the night he died, as well as when she was shown by investigators the tools that had been involved in the “accident”, when she discovered that the latch holding her husband was a sailboat latch that only needed like a couple inches of pressure to release Plus they also wanted to dress up a midget wrestler up as a Mini Blazer, attached to Owen. It only didn’t happen because Owen ducked the rehearsals for it. It’s all loving horrifying

It’s from Martha’s book. I think she even named the guy who was going to be Mini Blazer. Owen didn’t find out he was going to do it until he got to the arena and threw about as much a shitfit as Owen could muster about having to be responsible for another human being while up there, they told him “tough poo poo” and wanted to rehearse at some point soon, Owen said “sure” and then just didn’t show up for the rehearsal, showed up late enough that they simply scratched the mini up there with him and he did one rehearsal on his own (which went fine because he wasn’t in his ring gear, as moving to adjust the cape is what caused the latch to pop and release him). I think they wanted him to do one with the full entrance gear on and he was like “hell no” and so didn’t go up there again until his match was up.

Max Mini was going to be the guy attached to him, to be specific. And to correct myself, they never even told him "tough poo poo". They told him, instead, nothing, and let him think he had closed the book on the issue while they continued to plan for it to be a double drop. So it's even worse. TLF reads from Martha's book in episode 95, at like 45 minutes in, and I think it takes them like 45 minutes to get through the whole day. Another thing to remember is there was a legitimate ambulance at the venue because they had done the "Taker and Kane smash Vince's ankle" angle for Sunday Night Heat, with plans to do a remote of Vince being loaded into the ambulance and going away before the main event. Because the ambulance was there for a business deal, the EMTs were reticent to use the ambulance for its stated purpose, as the terms of the deal said an ambulance had to be there from so-and-so time to so-and-so time, which led to Owen being worked on but not being taken to the hospital immediately, while wrestlers stormed the cabin of the thing, demanding why the gently caress the thing wasn't going where it needed to go right the gently caress now. Finally the ambulance went, but it was pretty much a nigh-impossible retrieval from where Owen was at, even though his heart didn't stop beating completely until he made it to the hospital (if he had survived, he probably would have had massive, massive brain damage and a whole host of other problems, he had stopped breathing for god knows how many minutes and was turning some bad colors before they even got him out of the ring). Also don’t forget their weird French doctor who’s only real skill set was shiatsu massage entering the ring and trying to give Owen mouth to mouth while actual paramedics tried to get his heart to start It's so completely hosed The Cameo fucked around with this message at 04:23 on Dec 16, 2018 |
