Or only 1 guy named Jared applied and was accepted and 1 lacrosse player applied and was accepted so each indicator was a 100% success rate.

Given it was finance and New England it was probably Jared, Jared and Jared’s lacrosse team.

(Not 100% the name was Jared but it was definitely lacrosse)

In the end, that wasn't enough to get Rhode Island to sign the constitution. There were about a dozen conventions to ratify the constitution in RI, but all of them failed by large margins. In the end, the US senate voted to embargo RI and blockade the entire state. RI ratified the constitution 11 days later.

EDIT: It worked for the other small states, since they ratified the constitution earlier than average. But Rhode Island is just special.

BBC: Jeremy Corbyn tables Theresa May no-confidence motion

Following her delay of voting upon the current iteration of the Brexit/EU deal, Mr. Corbyn calls for a vote of no confidence against Prime Minister May. It's basically toothless because the Conservatives will refuse to allow the vote to even happen, especially as she already survived a challenge from within her own party. Essentially, PM May and her supporters are hoping that Labour won't call for a no confidence vote against Tory leadership in general.

I don't think they'll have the balls, but I'm crossing my fingers for a Festivus miracle.

As far as I understand, this is not a real deal. A vote of no-confidence for the prime minister is just for show, it has no force behind it. A vote of no-confidence for the government would force her to resign, similar to being impeached as president.

It's apparently the similar to something like the senate vote voicing disapproval for how Trump handled the Saudis. An interesting show of how the senate/parliament think about Trump/May, but with no legal force behind it.

The thing is that they wouldn't even say that-the founders were under no illusions that the Constitution was perfect, which is why they included the amendment process. If poo poo didn't work, they thought we should have the ability to change it-the real mistake was in making the Constitution too hard to amend.
