Jumping in too late and doing it on what will probably be a deeply lopsided one. The Rey stuff is gross, but it's gross within the confines of one wrestler's life and one TV show's prospects. Trump is one of the rare cases where the WWE reached beyond the boundaries of wrestling and committed a ton of money and resources into making the entire rest of the world a worse place to be.

Rey getting hosed over was so bad. Combined with Jericho's "yeah sure, do whatever kid" agreement with WWE, its probably a bit racist too.

Supporting Trump is up there with washing the blood off the Saudi's hands.

I voted Trump in this round, but your argument might be enough to make it a dark horse candidate for the whole tournament. No other option has such a far reaching effect, though Trump likely would have won without the millions and millions of WWE dollars.

Trump has ruined a lot of games like this by being a boring but credible option to steamroll everything else, which can also be used to further increase his power in the games

On the GRR/CJ subject, GRR was an awful cash grab and a stupid idea, but CJ not pulling out and finding another venue after an extremely publicized and horrifying murder ordered by the same people they were doing business with - while publicizing that it was a "difficult decision" (it wasn't) - was something truly evil on their part.

I hadn't been watching regularly for about a year or so. I was pretty unhappy about GRR, but CJ still going on was what made me decide to never go back.

An outsider candidate routinely mocked by the voters until it makes a late surge in popularity while his true horribleness comes to light? Dangit, you've done it again, Trump!

I voted Rey because his arm fell off but the office was all like "no you gotta do 50 more shows" and everytime he came back his arm fell off again so I could Rey being like "gently caress this, my arm keeps falling off let me go" and then office continues demanding he does dates despite the fact he doesn't want to work there. That is aggressively hosed up and is arguably contract slavery.

He's real dumb for going back too.

Which I'm sure is their defense.

Championing Trump is loving gross but we all knew the McMahon family were a bunch of lovely racist conservatives. There is some really gross and abhorrent poo poo in that bracket and while I may be taking a leap here, I think the developmental talent abuse is way worse and the ring boy scandal is positively abhorrent. Christ having a 64 news story bracket of all the lovely newsworthy things they've done over the years makes me really need a shower over having a network sub.

I remember being pissed about a lot of the things in this tournament, but I'd always either hand-wave it or take a short break. The Saudi Arabia propaganda caused me to cancel Network and pretty much stop following wrestling. It's literally the only thing on the list I can't, or won't, deal with. I'll be shocked if it (in some form) doesn't win the whole tournament.

The Ring Boy Scandal sounds bad, but I'm having a really hard time coming up with substantial details on it.

You can hear the shots. Jim's 53 in this clip, which means he's already had 2 of his Bell's palsy attacks. He was never an athlete, never a fighter of any kind. And a 280 lb man beats the poo poo out of him. They could have easily done something else here for heat.

Oh, and this is in Oklahoma, by the way. Because WWE gets off on humiliating people in their hometowns for heat. It'll be beyond hosed up when this company pretends to care after JR passes.
This clip mentions multiple times they're in New York at MSG, and JR pretty clearly blades at about 1:35 on the video. Still dumb and unnecessary sure, but not quite what you were making it out to be.
But they have poo poo on Jr plenty, like here https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=xYlbLZ7ZgX0

I forgot the poster's name, but they mentioned that JR is sexually aroused by those sorts of scenarios and that's why he fully consented to them without any other reason to do so. I believe the poster's name might have been Brandon.

One thing to remember about Rey is when he was constantly injured he was going to the Chargers doctor who was later revealed to be a total quack. After he went down Rey stopped getting injured as much. Rey also spent 6 months negotiating his deal so I imagine he got a more favorable deal with some of the bad clauses taken out but who knows.

Hedgehog Pie

Total fuckin' silence.
This was a difficult one for me but in the end I went for Eddy. Airing the funeral footage was incredibly crass and tasteless (not to mention self-serving, as it lingers over the various WWE workers in attendance), but at least it was like a dose of bitter medicine and over in a flash. The Eddy stuff just went ON AND ON, and they abjectly refused to learn from it. It's like they knew that he and his family were much easier to take advantage of given the circumstances, so they doubled down on it. Awful stuff.

A special mention also for airing those hilarious skits in which Tim White kept trying to kill himself about a month after he died as well. Death is entertaining, right?

Hell isn't real the way that funeral footage of family members and close friends grieving and having the worst times of their lives was. Eddie abused steroids (coolly) before he even went to WCW as well and i don't really blame WWE on his death any more than i blame pro wrestling culture for most of his career. They do share in the blame, but the choice is clear.
