I honestly feel like Trump's addled brain antics are going to make the recession more mild, if anything. What made the great depression and the great recession so bad? A systematic underestimation of risk followed by massive credit crunches due to overleveraged banks. What is Trump's tweets/trade wars/Fed fight doing? Systematically increasing financial anxiety and decreasing the propensity for risky investments, while forcing everyone to reassess their credit situation. With luck, when the market correction happens, everyone will be so drat freaked out in the MBA equivalent of a prepper compound that it won't trickle down to the average Joe.
