I can't remember who said the text in these things is like trying to read in a dream, but it is so true.

Get bashed, platonist!

Earlier I posted what turned out to be the first in a series of videos called ⏩, or Fast Forward if you don’t have an emoji keyboard handy. Each one is a youTube video from a future. It is a horror series in the style of Black Mirror, which imagines what might happen when the technology which we are currently working so hard toward meets the less savory aspects of humanity which come so easily to us. I find the latest one to be the scariest yet. The first one had effects which impacted the whole universe, the second a country, but this latest one focuses on the plight of a single person. Do check out the content warnings if you’re at all squeamish, this one is a bit of a tough watch.

Given the combination of being very skinny and very strong, I doubt most people could crawl through that cave even if they wanted too. Not just fatties, if your drat shoulders are a couple inches too broad you aren't getting through.

I like to watch CinemaSins and Honest Trailers for all the movies I'm curious about but don't want to watch. It's like Cliff's Notes with commentary notes to use in conversation to "prove you watched it."

Hey, if you have the skill and the will, more power to you. But let's not pretend it's a perfectly normal activity to engage in. poo poo's hosed and it takes a certain kind of crazy to want to do.

Not wanting to do some borderline suicidal journey to the center of the earth doesn't mean you hate the outdoors.

A picture of your butt sticking out of a hole that is about 5 times bigger than that crack that guy slithered into doesn't exactly carry the same weight and just came off as a lame rear end brag btw.

National parks with caves have like $20 tours of wild caves. It's not exactly xxxtreme sports.

Look closer, that hole closes in on the person crawling through, he could barely fit. I don't know how you think I took a picture of my own butt.

You came in shaking your head that people reacted to some dude squeezing into a bowling ball sized hole in the ground when I think there is roughly a 0% chance you could/would have done that yourself.

I've been in caves, man. I still don't want to die stuck in some rocks.

When we were kids, my cousin tried to do that into a hole we found in the woods behind his house. He got stuck and they had to call rescue to dig him out. At least he went in feet first so he wasn't in too much danger.

Also gently caress that.

Part of the fear comes from the pressure of the walls around you. Of moving your head a little bit and hitting a rough edge, or being unable to move your arms freely while wiggling through a crevasse. That and the feeling of cold, still air, or crawling down a staircase of puddles where your belly and hands and knees get soaked and banged up with each step, or the moment of feeling stuck before you back up and try a slightly different configuration.

I tried spelunking and it's not for me.
