Uncle Ben: Still Dead.
This is all the current Vice President's plan, who appears to be smarter, or at least less-dead than previous vice presidents.

If this plan at any point puts him in the position to assume the presidency perhaps because everyone, including the current President, is in prison, (and especially if the stated plan relies on him to give that position back) I think he's going to keep it.

So a while ago they came to the conclusion that Trixie secretly controlled the police and I really hope that comes into play here somehow.

Found the loophole.
"The law says that if you're in prison you can't be president."
If they stage a jailbreak, she's not 'in' prison and isn't disqualified.

Holy poo poo, did Reverse Hilary Clinton just perform reverse lobbying? And just like regular lobbying, it's legally not bribery.

I love that all this plan ended up doing was narrowing the field down to three candidates, thus scuppering their initial scheme of bloating the candidate list with socialists. Barbara is back to just about exactly where she started.

Remember that all the votes are already in and the announcement is only an hour away. And Barbara Everdark's park, with three percent of the poll twenty days before the election, was in an eighteen-way tie at that time, making the outcome pretty much random among those eighteen. It's not longer about split parties - it's a random choice between her and up to two others, depending on whether they're also part of those eighteen. For all intents and purposes, if the old woman and/or the spider were also in the top eighteen, Barbara's chances can't exceed fifty percent.

Uncle Ben: Still Dead.
That said, the law is about being "in prison" not "Under arrest" isn't it? And there are certainly more candidates here than police. Even without a trial, even if the candidates don't run or stall, it's certainly going to take some time to get them processed and imprisoned.

I was very, VERY ready for the announcer to say, "My apologies, but the law requires that I go through every single candidate regardless of eligibility," follow by multiple pages of awesome names and Barbara's face turning entirely new shades of red like the Color out of Space.

I thought the ending of Transdimensional Brain Chip was pretty happy. Like, the alternative was the entire planet being imprisoned in Buddhist re-education camps.

Lostclock and Rolf Rust dead. A mountain of other corpses (an uncomfortable number needlessly killed by Anette under the influence of the sword). Anette and Bianca's friendship destroyed. The 2 hitmen unleashed on a fresh world to cause havoc and murder. Maythorn and Anette have a tentative future together but that's really the only thing salvaged from the wreckage. I guess that's technically 'happy-ish"!

Jymre probably got the happiest ending, having grown out of his "get rich quick" schemes and reconciled with his family, his fiancée, and even his boss.

Also don't forget that Destiny getting pretty much killed off also meant that a prophesied disaster was averted in Annette's world.

The hitmen have no reason to kill more - they're off the Destiny train after all they did.

The Linke is a party I grudgingly accept exists, but I've learned enough about DDR-history I can't bring myself to trust a party that was once the SED, a party leading the corrupt state apparatus ...
