Yes I know that list is all over the place, but goons recommended Hollow Knight when I posed this same question last year and it ended up being my favorite game I played in 2018 so I trust y'all

Heat Signature is great but you'll probably be done with it in 5-10 hours.

Salt and Sanctuary is the only game I've 100%ed on multiple platforms, it's really well done, although a lot of people are turned off by the faces.

Fallout NV is easily the best of the 3D Fallouts, so it's a good pick if you like that sort of game.

I tried to play Baldur's Gate II a few years ago and bounced off it hard. My impression is that if you didn't play that series back in the day you'll have trouble enjoying today, but that may just be me.

Talos is much more like The Witness in that it�s a collection of a vast number of small independent puzzles presented in themed groups. It�s not at all like Obduction which is an old school Cyan game where a few big sprawling puzzles are interlinked parts of a whole. It�s definitely a very good game though.

I am 100% sold on PSVR. I love Astro Bot, I love Tetris, I love Beat Saber.

Maybe get the PS4 when it goes on sale in spring or summer for $200 and play all the exclusives, and then when fall or winter comes around get the PSVR

You get better draw distances, shadow resolution etc in a few games but it's not noticeable unless you put two screenshots / streams side by side. yeah, i wasn't thinking of pulling the trigger right this second but reading lots of end of year wrap-ups for the first time I feel like I'm missing out by not having one, which was not ever a thing before this year. i was thinking $100 upgrade for the Pro might be worth it but if the regular one gets that cheap that will probably be the way I go. I guess I'll just look out for those sales. They probably happen around E3 time, right?

E3 is a good bet. But who knows? Maybe earlier too. The $200 sales are happening more frequently.

Personally I don�t quite see myself buying an Xbox or PlayStation ever, just because I have a sweet PC and won�t ever be tempted by console exclusives since there are literally infinite good games already available of PC that I have yet to play. The Switch is different though, since it�s portable and my desktop is not
