lucky goldstar first out of the gate in the buzzword olympicsquote:The α9 Gen 2 employed in LG’s Z9, W9, E9 and C9 series OLED TVs heightens picture and sound quality with its deep learning algorithm (developed from a vast database of over one million visual data) which recognizes content source quality and determines the best upgrade method for optimal visual output. LG’s 8K 88-inch Z9 OLED TV boasts higher processing capabilities for delivering the most realistic 8K picture quality that looks sharp, vivid and detailed thanks to 8K upscaling and improved noise reduction.

I mean, having an algorithm that automatically adjusts the brightness/saturation/post-processing or equalizer profile based on detected content type would be nice but I also suspect it will suck rear end and not work right the same as sarnsung's terrible soap-opera effect they keep putting on their tvs

It sounds terrible in theory and it's going to be garbage in practice. Dynamic brightness algorithms only exist to cheat power usage labeling requirements, anyways.

This expands the foray Whirlpool made to mobile earlier this year when it announced plans for an Apple Watch app. In addition, Whirlpool said it’s introducing simplified voice commands to its Smart Laundry appliances for both Google Assistant and Alexa devices.

in a sane universe: our washers and dryers send out notifications to your home network when they finish or have a problem, we’ve created an api that can parse them in our universe: using three separate application stacks and a wristwatch operating system your data travels through two dozen servers to your phone before being transmitted via bluetooth to your smart watch. also you can change what your washer is doing mid-cycle for some reason
