I, for one, salute the show for taking a hard stance and making time actually move forward. Congrats to Beast Boy for turning teen years old.

Let's be fair, it's far from the first cartoon to pull that.

I look forward to the point where Beast Boy has had more birthdays on screen than it's possibly to have had and still be a teenager.

The release of new Miraculous episodes takes a new and even more ridiculous turn as the latest (3x02, 'Weredad'/'Papa Garou') gets its worldwide debut on a Swiss TV channel's website. (Inevitably, it was ripped, subbed and YouTubed within about two hours.) Good, fun story with lots of embarrassing relationship comedy, and Plagg is now basically the audience stand-in as he takes the piss out of a clueless Adrien for not realising that Ladybug and Marinette are the same person.

I'm a couple eps into 3Below and man, the fish-out-of-water stuff is excruciating and I really need Varvatos to stop screaming every line he delivers. Also it's just Sym-Bionic Titan without the mech fights.

New Trailer out for Carmen Sandiego: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=shbiwCCMDHQ Looks like an origin story. So instead of it just being Where in the world is Carmen Sandiego, it's also Who in the world is Carmen Sandiego.

I'm going to be mildly disappointed if she's just "stealing from thieves" and not, like, lifting the Elgin marbles to repatriate them.

Like the look of the new Carmen Sandiago, but sad that she's probably not going to be stealing THE INTERNATIONAL DATE LINE any time soon. Or K2. Or "the dykes". Or "all the goulash". Carmen Sandiago stole a lot of weird poo poo, and she also stole my eight year old heart.

Other things stolen by Carmen Sandiago include: The Snow From Atop Mt Fuji, Every Last Drop Of Salsa, The Abominable Snowman, The Trans-Siberian Railroad, and all The Kiwi Birds. She was ridiculous, and I loved her. The reboot looks okay, and I'll probably like it more when I watch it, but I still kinda wish they had kept her as a more insane (but also more kid friendly) female version of Lupin the third. Clearly this just means gradual escalation. She kinda strikes me as the stealth mentor type who steals things to teach people of their value.

Wizards will have the big crossover series conclusion. Troll Hunters has finished but I don't know how many seasons 3Below and Wizards are getting.

I'd kind of like a gradual thing where she unofficially starts helping Acme by breaking in to their own headquarters and leaving Clues to Vile's future plans so they can be there to arrest them after she grabs all their poo poo.

Trailer looked neat, but I didn't see any edutainment hook, which is bad. The one thing I remember from the show I watched was a guy stealing the first submarine to try to make the South win the civil war by destroying the Monitor.

The Milo Murphy/Phineas Ferb crossover was pretty good. The older series' characters slot in pretty easily, like they always belonged there. I guess from international spoilers Doof is a permanent member of the cast now? also the subtext for Dakota and Cavendish is text now.

So I just found out one of my favourite shows as a kid (with super catchy theme song) Mysterious Cities of Gold has a modern sequel series that started in 2012 where they’ve gone to Asia. It’s already got 3 seasons under its belt, and is expecting a 4th soon. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=y6L2psTziGM

I'm almost through part 2 of season 2 of Miraculous and I'm impressed at the quality of villains.

I'm equally impressed by how good the villains are as I am from literally every named character calling out how Chloe causes most of the akumatizations.

Finished part 2 of season 2 of Miraculous and I have questions. Did the Peacock Marvelous breaking lead to Hawkmoth's wife being in her current state? Are we going to see more Marvelouses in action like the snake or the horse? I wonder how Hawkmoth controlled his Marvelous so that it could not pass through the walls. Doesn't Master Fu know who he gave the Hawkmoth marvelous so wouldn't he be able to retrieve it then?

TV Zombie posted:Finished part 2 of season 2 of Miraculous and I have questions. Master Fu could be playing the long game, trusting that Ladybug and Cat Noire will someday get Hawkmoth to see sense. Also I like that the akumatisation is basically creating Miraculouses temporarily, their villains follow very similar rules to the actual heroes given the magic totems giving them power. It's obvious that the power Hawkmoth is abusing is supposed to be used to make a bunch of temp heroes to bolster the Miraculous's ranks in times of crisis. Hawkmoth isn't meant to be a villain, he's meant to be a general, but his obsession with his late wife is blinding him to priorities (also I'm assuming due to the whole "Always a price to pay for the wish" that if Hawkmoth does manage to get his wish to bring his wife back, it will likely trade off by killing Adrian. Regardless of how things go, Hawkmoth will lose everything if he doesn't get redeemed, as I doubt if the former happens that his wife will stick around.).

TV Zombie posted:Finished part 2 of season 2 of Miraculous and I have questions. 2: based on stuff revealed at a recent con, yes. 3: dunno. Maybe Gabriel gave strict orders that Nooroo had to stay close to him at all times; Nooroo seems very subservient compared to Tikki and especially Plagg. 4: Gabriel said that he "found" Nooroo and by extension the moth miraculous, so Fu presumably gave it to someone else originally. Who?
