My 100% Porygon from months back got turned into a Porygon-Z with Hidden Power Ground. That’s pretty neat! Hidden Power is like a fun little lottery.

Ground is pretty useful in the type advantage game against legendaries. You could consider powering that bad boy up if you want an unconventional attacker that's unique to just you. Your charge attack is a toss-up though since there's no good pairing with your Hidden Power Ground. Zap Cannon if you think they'll bring back flying legendaries, Hyper Beam is STAB, and Solar Beam only pairs well against Regirock and random gym situations.

I joined a Heatran raid, was tinkering with my party, and my phone crashed. Rebooted it, clicked on the gym, noticed it was suddenly down from 40% to 10% power, and it crashed again. Then it decided it was dead. When I got home and started charging it, it immediately popped back up to 32%. Kind of a bummer to miss a Heatran and also find out I need to drop $800 on a new phone.

I hit some kind of record yesterday with a ridiculous 44 lucky trades in one day. About 41 of them were forced with people who had old pokemon to trade, and were me filling in lucky dex with meaningless stuff. Got some legacy move set stuff too, mostly just for show. Also hit non-forced wailmer and totodile for next week.

To be fair, you probably only need a new battery if you’re comfortable with your phone’s speed. If it’s an iPhone 6 you may even still get a free replacement? Old batteries rapidly think they’re lower charge than they are when you put a big power draw on them. Having your phone die at 20-30% when you try to do something intensive is textbook old battery, since it suddenly tries to pull a lot of power but the battery struggles to provide it and the charge circuitry sees that as lower charge than it really is.

Unfortunately the battery replacement program ended last month. You can still buy a replacement but you’ll be paying for it. Cold temperatures really demolish old iPhone batteries. I take my iPhone running and always had trouble with it shutting down during the run. There are only two ways to deal with that: either get an external battery or realize that not every moment of your waking life needs to feed marginal progression in a mobile f2p game based on a video game series for children. I went with and would recommend an external battery.

I took advantage of the battery replacement program they had; the battery's only like seven months old. Yesterday my sister's phone hard bricked and we got our phones at the same time (like three years ago), so given that the battery should be new enough, I'm kind of concerned about the phone itself. I already have two external battery packs for community days, but if my phone dies-dies then I've got a problem.

I'm 33 and I haven't tried soloing a T3 raid in a while. I might be able to get one of the weaker ones, but tbh I feel safer duoing it with anyone else. I could probably carry a level 15 or so through a T3.

T3s are pretty easy to solo, I did a Machamp yesterday with 1 Moltres with Sky Attack, and I think maybe a Ho-Oh subbed in at the very last minute.

So I'm finally at a point where I'm getting sinnoh stones regularly thanks to using my kids' account to battle. I've evolved all the general stuff for dex entries, but what's the best thing to concentrate on to build more gently caress off armies? I'm thinking Rhyperior, I want like 10 of them.

Machamps are one of the easier ones, but Donphan is actually pretty hard unless you have good counters and are high level.

As an iPhone user I use PokeGenie to do my IV checking. It also has a pretty good battle simulator telling you which mons to use and how much damage you're likely to do. I always check that before doing a raid solo or in a small group.

Weavile is great, actually. It's a bit more DPS than Ttar if you don't have that army, and is a pretty great ice attacker too to boot. Not top tier because mewtwo and to be released Mamoswine will be that tier, but it's better than any other current option (sans IBtwo). Rhyperior is good if you need more ground attackers for like the next week and don't have groudons. Or if you're missing SD ttars and want to rep those. Electivire is good if you want another electric attacker and don't have one or two good Raikous. How do I get Calcy IV to properly catalog my mons to suggest teams for me against raid bosses? Right now I have some doubles in there of the same one at different CP levels or one without the moveset cataloged.

The drought is over apparently, at least locally. Caught 8 Croagunk and 7 Skorupi today at the campus I work on, including a weather boosted 96 that got evolved immediately. Even got my first Finneon, finally.

I turned in the weekly research reward today and got a stupid Articuno, wait is something wrong with my backlight settings, oh hey it's a Sparklecuno! Kind of bogus how the bird trio shiny forms are all just a slightly different shade to their regular forms. Blue flame Moltres or ice white Articuno would be neat. Obviously Zapdos would be bright green.

The broadest advice I can give is to memorize the type chart and don't use any rock types on your team, they're dead weight in this type restricted format. I've gotten a Sinnoh stone from my last two 7 day spin rewards, but I've also only gotten Articuno and Suicune instead of Ho'oh or Lugia for my 7 day research rewards, and not even shiny ones
