I’ve never gotten a shiny from any field research outside of that squirtle community day

I still haven't gotten one from an egg, but I've gotten shinies of Misdreavus, Magikarp, and 2 Aerodactyls from quests, which is fairly acceptable. I want a Gastly next, because they look good with blue fog.

The only non-event shines I've got are Duskull (Rad) and Pinsir (It's purple at least?)

i have enough shinies that i fielded 3 unique all-shiny great league teams and had more to go but the other person got upset and stopped fighting me despite winning against my ~500cp shiny pokemon

people tell me shiny krabby exists but I've never seen one or know anyone with one. my best non-event shiny is a shellder and it rules

i have 2 shiny wingulls for some reason, were they ever part of an event

I caught a shiny Pinsir a while back, and I hate Pinsir for being a trash boring pokemon, it at least looks interesting. And I caught a shiny Natu, which is objectively absolutely terrible

Centzon Totochtin posted:i have 2 shiny wingulls for some reason, were they ever part of an event They were part of a kind of mini event. When shiny Wingull was released there was a brief period (a day I think?) where Wingull were hugely more likely to appear in the wild and had a slightly boosted shiny chance so you'd have a good chance of finding a shiny one. There were similar mini events for Plusle/Minun, Pinsir, and some others which is how I got my shiny Minun (Shinun) and three shiny Pinsir.

Pretty easily soloed a raid today. Not sure how normal that is. 3000 cp or so Wilmer was the opponent. Not complaining, as I hadn't taken on a raid before today, but I was still kinda surprised!

I'm now considering doing a league with two shiny Meowths and a shiny Persian, or the other way around. No idea why these keep catching but shiny Meowth is fabulous.

Not complaining, as I hadn't taken on a raid before today, but I was still kinda surprised! 1 skull and 2 skull are pretty easily soloable. 3 skull typically can be soloed if you have high level teams / the boss has 4x weakness / the boss has low defense. 4 skull cannot be soloed under normal circumstances.

I think I've heard of people soloing absol. Maybe weather was involved too though.

Yeah with the type effectiveness update, the only 4* that can't be soloed is A-Marowak. Of course, you need weather and really strong Pokemon to try and take down Tyranitar, Golem and Rhydon, Absol was a possible raid beforehand since it had awful defenses, in the same way that Deoxys-A can be soloed. The update let me solo A-Raichu, so I'm pretty happy about that, now I can try for the shiny much easier. But defenses are the biggest part, since when Shuckle was a 3*, it couldn't be soloed at all, compared to every other 3*.

The only shiny I've ever gotten from a research task is ghastly. My favourite shiny right now is my magmortar, who was created after I accidentally evolved my shiny magby while trying to power him up

I haven't gotten a single shiny outside of a community day or event, and not one shiny legendary. I've still never seen or caught a shiny Magikarp despite catching enough for about 1600 candy, but everyone else seems to have a red Gyarados. In other news I'm finding a Cubone away from finishing Meltan 7/9, and 18 grass or psychic catches away from finishing Celebi 7/8, so that's good NTRabbit fucked around with this message at 08:33 on Jan 11, 2019 |

Pinsir, Eevee x3, Meganium x3, Mareep, Ampharos, Umbreon, Larvitar x2, Tyranitar, Minun, Beldum x3, Metagross, and Drifloon are the only shinies I have. It's a short list.

I’ve had 4 wild shiny encounters this week: Murkrow, Krabby, Shellder and Pineco. Really happy to get Shellder; I usually evolve any shiny for dex completion but shiny Cloyster is such a letdown in comparison, so this one’s staying as-is.

Caught a shiny Grimer a couple of days ago after a long dry spell and I'm trading a local goon for their shiny Muk any day now. I'll have a full set of sentient piles of snot in no time!

"Since June 22nd, 2018, Alolan Meowth can be hatched from 7-km Eggs with a 455 of maximal CP." RNG wants to drown me in shiny cats. Okay. Here's what he looks like: https://pokemongo.fandom.com/wiki/Meowth So far I have four shiny Meowths and a shiny togepi (which I evolved) from eggs, a duglet (now dugtrio) that is shiny and amazing looking. And a Glalie that I evolved from a snorunt that was shiny and now regret because now he looks bad This week's research whatever netted me a water Suicine.

Alolan is not the same as Shiny. Shiny is the same base pokemon with a different colour scheme; alolan looks completely different (e.g. Meowth has had a nut allergy reaction, Diglett has hair) and may have different typing etc. AFAIK the only pokemon with a Shiny (green) and Alolan (also green) form so far is Grimer / Muk: https://pokemongo.fandom.com/wiki/Muk

I think the same is true for getting both genders - if you have male and female Tyranitars, for example, you only need the one shiny and it will still count for both. I'm not complaining!
