So by becoming literally more human, he's become... less human? Have a little faith. This seems to me like the next step in Duck's arc. He's gone from rejecting saving the world to reluctantly saving the world to embracing saving the world, only to lose the abilities that put him in this position in the first place - so now, instead of having this magical crutch to rely on and simply absorbing and dealing out damage, he's going to have to save the world as a regular human guy. Sure, he was pretty bitchy in this episode, but that's perfectly understandable/realistic and I really doubt it's going to continue to be the case for the rest of his character arc.

I will say, I hope they spend some time on Duck telling the others about losing his powers. He was talking about it openly in front of them in the Heathcliff scene and nobody questioned it, so presumably he told them at some point before that. Also, current theory: In addition to owning what is pretty obviously a chunk of the Sylvane crystal, Aubrey's mother was either descended from or literally was/is Sylvane (as in, the spirit or whatever from within the crystal). Aubrey's ultimate destiny as a child of both Sylvane and Earth will be to save both worlds by repairing or stabilizing the rift between them somehow.

I's actually hoping this gives Ned and Duck something to bond over. Duck complains about losing his powers, Ned points out that he never even had powers and he's still manged to help out, and this helps inspire Duck to be the best him he can be.

I'm fine with the guestpert segment being 15 minutes as opposed to the entire second half of the podcast. E: I just realized the censored word Travis says was "Alexa" and they were avoiding setting off listeners' Alexas, which is nice of them.
