I agree with whoever said it most recently that the Muncie Girls got robbed in all those arbitrary lists. Fixed Ideals is a treasure.

Also why did I stop listening to Slutface this album is great.

Alsox2 ditto on Charly Bliss and IDLES

Alsox3 Kero Kero Bonito was also robbed (except that Fantano included them in his list); that album was a complete departure from their old stuff but also really really well done.

Just like me. I'm done now

Life would be simple in the forest except for Cyril Sneer. And his life would be simple except for The Raccoons.
I would just like to remind people that THIS song was released this year:

Teleman - Song for a Seagull https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yU58OGcZG8Y

There were some good singles released this year, but albums not so much.

After finally catching up with this thread after like six months, I didn't see a band I've been playing pretty heavily the past few months. If anyone is in to sort of twee California-y but really catchy songs, I saw Illuminati Hotties open up for Los Campesinos! in October and it was one of the few times in recent memory I felt wowed by an opener. They're good live.

I loving love the energy in all their songs. It's like 90s grunge capitalism fueled hate but without all the self loathing & depression. I grabbed tickets to see them on a Sunday, but now looked at their tour and realized they are playing 3 hrs away on a Saturday night so I might have to do back to back nights so I can at least be appropriately intoxicated for one of them.

Went back to one of my favorite bands I discovered back in 2017 The Total Bettys. They had a new album come out in 2018 and it left me really underwhelmed. I recently went back to compare the two albums and determined that it wasn't just nostalgia, at least I pretty sure it isn't.

I'm too music dumb to properly describe what the difference is. The newer one just sounds really...subdued or muffled I guess. Like the speaker is being covered with a pillow. Anyone who knows more about music is welcome to explain it to me.
