Onside kick rules are garbage now, and even if you can't stop the Rams that's still the better play to make. It sucks, it really sucks, but this is the NFL for at least a season.

2 - 4 and 15 from your own 35

OT rules should be if you score a TD on your first possession that's 7 points no PAT. Then the other team gets the ball. But they HAVE to go for 2 if they get a TD.

No that allows the offense to throw a pass without the risk of stopping the clock (since it stops at two minutes anyway)

The NFL doesn't need college OT rules, but it's insane that you can have a game where neither D does anything that ultimately is decided by a coinflip.
