I'm guessing she slapped a monarchist during the Restoration, and then refused to slap a shogunate loyalist (who actually enjoyed being slapped) that might have helped her escape.

I'm sad that Maki Kawase doesn't seem to have sung elsewhere. Junko's singing voice was one of my favorite parts of this show.

It's way deeper than I thought it would be judging by her design. But girl has a good set of vocals on her, that's for sure. I think she and Yugiri were my favorites when it came to singing voices.
