Yeah that’s not healthy for you. The toxins than can be found in crabs focus in their fat/butter. Avoid eating that frequently.

Oh man oh man oh man how have I only now found this thread. crab friends get hugs https://i.imgur.com/EWvGkYb.gifv I greatly enjoy crabs. I like to meet them in the wild, both on land and underwater.  Cardisoma guanhomi - hurts like hell when they pinch, but I deserved it  Libinia emarginata - spider crabs are generally great Sometimes they come home with me. I figure that letting them have a few extra months of growth without risk of predators is a fair trade for their keeping me company.   Menippe mercenaria - probably shouldn't have regulated species at home, but... she grew a whole bunch, seemed happy, and then I let her go when she got to be too much crab for my tank.  Libinia emarginata again - my personal crab naming scheme is that all crabs are Clever Crab, except for spider crabs, which are Stupid Crab. Stupid Crab is seen here trying to hide in the filter. Sometimes it would use food for a hat. Not the most effective camouflage.   More temperate friends! The rock crab Cancer irroratus and the Jonah crab C. borealis. The easiest way to tell the two species apart is to pick them up. Jonah crabs fold up and wait for you to get bored and leave, and rock crabs flail around and try to harm you. Horseshoe crabs aren't really crabs, but they're fun to mock in the lab as they battle their nemesis, the right angle.  I used to work on spiny lobsters and currently work with clawed lobsters - not crabs either, so I'll try not to post too much of them.   https://i.imgur.com/5BqUkR0.gifv And awaaaaaaay!
