The Ansem and Roxas fights are amazing and some of the best action game fights out there. What are you even playing these games for if you’d quit on those.

the 1v1 with Ansem is actually one of my favorite boss fights in KH1, next to the fights with Rikunort, Kurt Zisa, and Septhiroth.

Roxas is one of the best boss fights in the series.

At least you're playing on a remix, so the 11 minute cutscene right before that fight is skippable. Guess if that was the case on the original!

(It was not, you had to watch it every time you died)

dying in the solo fight with Ansem only ever sent you back to before Darkside. The only cutscene you had to watch was a 10 second clip of Donald and Goofy getting locked out of the arena and then Darkside appearing.

Roxas is great, but it's easy to see why he'd be a roadblock, especially if you go in underleveled.

I wanna throw those crazy laser pillars around in KH3, though.

I do like that Ansem and Roxas are both game's way of telling you to pay attention and stop mashing buttons. I do hope there are more duels in KH III, (as long as they are fun)

Yeah I played the original PS2 release when it was released. Was on expert so he wasn't nearly as awful there compared to proud, but I sure died a lot to Riku 2 and fricking Clayton. Never want to hear "Clayon No X*@%"

Ansem was very convincing in KH1. I strongly considered returning to darkness quite a few times.

The two best voice actors this series has had are Billy Zane and Leonard Nimoy, and they vastly improve the games they're in.

Richard Epcar is a pretty good replacement for Billy Zane, though. Maybe I just like hearing Batou in things

Opposite side of the coin is whoever they got to replaced Mandy Moore as Aeris. I sure hope they didn't use her for Rapunzel as well.

Richard Epcar is great. Two incarnations of Xehanort are also Joseph Joestar.

Men Suvari took over as Aerith in KH2, and it was a terrible choice.

Yesterday I was at the point in KH1 where you get the Simba summon from Leon in Traverse Town (where they're talking with speech bubbles not VA), and my boyfriend was thoroughly unimpressed.

Some teeth long for ripping, gleaming wet from black dog gums. So you keep your eyes closed at the end. You don't want to see such a mouth up close. before the bite, before its oblivion in the goring of your soft parts, the speckled lips will curl back in a whinny of excitement. You just know it.

When he finally dies and we're all rightfully pissing on his corpse, we'll still look back fondly on his Hades (and Once Upon a Time In America).

I'm pretty sure it was confirmed a while back that Moore will be reprising her role as Rapunzel in KH3 (not sure if Aeris is in the game though but if so then hopefully she'll be playing her again as well).

BRING IT ON BRING IT ON YEAH

I’ve seen a lot of articles mention that at the time KH was released they needed the FF characters to bring fans of the series to a game of mostly OC and Disney characters. Now that the OC stand on their own the FF ones don’t really need much of a role.

Larryb

Well there's always the Shop Moogle and DDD did have some appearances by characters from The World Ends With You but otherwise yeah, FF (or existing Square Enix characters in general for that matter) kind of stopped being relevant in Kingdom Hearts after KH2. Since then they've just made small cameos at best.

I feel like those interviews were the coy way of saying 'no, we're not putting them in this time'. We might still get a Sephiroth Superboss in the coliseum or something.

Which sucks because I liked that goofy aspect; I honestly disliked KH2 changing the FF7 guys' costumes to their Advent Children looks, because 'Cloud's last minute Vincent Halloween costume' getup was :discourse:

Which is a shame, they should be expanding upon what SE franchises crop up in Kingdom Hearts, like for example the Dragon Gods from Chrono Cross appearing as bonus bosses

After watching a lot of KH3 gameplay, I feel like I can say with some confidence that the game looks hella fun and I think that a lot of people’s early worries will be alleviated as everyone gets a better understanding of the options that are available to a skilled player.

What are the early worries exactly?

My only real concern is whether or not Kingdom Hearts can successfully adapt to the present state of gaming where every AAA title is expected to be a multi-million dollar megaproject with a minimum of 100 hours of gameplay

A few months ago some kh3 completionists/speedrunners got to tear the demo and give feedback. All I remember is they all complained about floatiness and it got fixed a month later. I’m sure there were like 20 other small fixes too.

I remember hearing some complaints about floatiness but even then when you take into account that 2.8 which was essentially a KH3 demo had the best combat in the series since KH2 even with some of Aqua's jankiness I don't see any reason to be worried.

Phantom Aqua got me more excited for KH3 than any other promotional material.

I can see why a lack of invincibility frames on lots of attacks would be a problem but even the best game in the series, KH2, had you get one shot by random bullshit during mob fights on critical.

The worst part of previous games combat has been in my opinion enemy (chiefly bosses) tendencies to just instantly break out of a combo in the middle of it instead of adhering to revenge values, making anything but tap and roll unviable.

Just completed platinuming the all in one package for kh3 and just have another movie to watch now. I can completely see how people have questions with how kh3 will end up playing as it seems to be a steady slope downward from kh2.

I dunno if they can do better than all of the data fights in kh2fm but I hope its not as bad as the demon tide on critical.
