I'm amazed at how a chapter in which nothing happens I'm still entertained.

Ryusui's hand markings are starting to make more sense now. While he may be the greediest man alive, on the brightside a man like that is probably easy for Gen and Senku to manipulate.
I can't wait for Tsukasa to meet Ryusui. :allears:

The problem there is that the manga has given us two goals for the story: find what caused the petrification of every living being on Earth, and return civilization back to its pre-petrification state or better. The second of these goals is infinitely more enjoyable than the first, because it lets the characters show their intelligence, cleverness, and even innocence in their excitement about scientific advancement. The first is...a plot, in a series. The second resonates with us, because science really is awesome.

Thankfully, Dr. Stone has put the growth of mankind as the center of the spotlight until now, which is what has made it such an enjoyable series, so unique among the Shonen Jump crowd. The petrification has only really served as a way to push Senku into creating specific things, which themselves cause the creation of others because that's just how advancement works. So long as it keeps that philosophy up, I don't doubt it'll keep this level of quality up.

At some point the series is going to transition into a focus on the larger mystery because society will become too large and advanced for Senku to have the magnitude of influence over development that he currently does.

Honestly, I wonder if the manga is even going to explore to that point. I feel like "society is large and advanced" is basically epilogue fodder, since so much of the series's charm and soul is tied up in being basically A Modern Guy Teaches Cavemen What Cell Phones Are.

idk I think watching their society advance is fun. they can't be cavemen forever and I'd rather not have a jump cut to some nebulous future point as the epilogue that skips the fun part of senku teaching people things

Luckily the manga focuses on Senku teaching and fostering the love of science and development in people rather than him just rebuilding society in his image so it doesn't matter if he is no longer as influential

I mean the entire series is Senku teaching people things. Once society is large and advanced Senku doesn't really have anything to teach people.

I've been looking into Boichi a little more, because dr Stone is so charming. Apparently he did and loved doing porn, which explains so much about some of the panel compositions.
Currently reading through Origin, which is pretty fun. I especially like some of the call outs, like the Tungsten rods actually being used as a satellite weapon, like what Senku said.
I also read HE hunt for energy, which is pretty much the Dr Stone prototype. Which makes me wonder how much of dr Stone Inagaki Riichiro actually writes.

On the subject of Dr Stone:
So how are they going to unstone a chef considering they don't have the miracle water anymore? Senku used the last bit for the hot air balloon.
I can't be the only one surprised that Senku sucks as a chef. Cooking has quite a lot of science so I would've expected the bread to at least look like bread.
And I can't wait for a genius chef to show up. What insane baking skills is he going to have. :allears:

Tsukasa at the point shown in the manga should already be basically a flesh slushie. Cryogenics is basically complete bunk because water expands when frozen.

Some frogs and fish can freeze and revive, but of course it's questionable if it's applicable to humans and there weren't any signs besides a giant freezer.

I want them to abuse the freezer and store ice cream right next to freezer burnt Tsukasa.

They made a pretty big deal out of Senku killing Tsukasa with his own hands. The way they framed it Tsukasa probably could've survived for a fair bit longer on his own, just not for the months if not years it'll take to prepare to travel across the world, actually do cross the world, find the petrification ray, then return home to cure him.
