Ajax got Tadic and Blind for 10 and 15m lbs respectively last summer, each of which is higher than some other clubs’ turnover in the Eredivisie.

Feyenoord's youth academy is much better than Ajax's, if you want to look at dutch clubs feeding richer clubs.

Obviously de jong is a generational talent though and I can't wait for de jong, de ligt, van dijk et al to lift all.the trophies for Holland.

Brilliant Orange is more about Dutch Football in general, but naturally that includes a lot about Ajax. Long time since I read it, but I remember enjoying it.

Makes sense given where they were in 2015. Promoted to the PL with a wage bill of £30m. They've had cash to burn (and an immediate need to spend) even without a shady Russian owner backing them up beyond FFP allowances.
